These two are the worst. Two years ago when the L.A. Kings were on their first Stanley Cup run, our school had its annual awards night scheduled on the night the Kings won Game 6 to clinch the Cup. At one point one of the teachers went up to present his award, and casually said, "For those who are interested, the Kings are up 1-0!" Obviously, those who were interested, did NOT want to know. One father sitting in the front row actually tried to stop him, calling out "Nooooo!" midway through the announcement. When he heard the score he slumped in his seat in defeat. The best part? The SAME teacher did the SAME thing the next year.
As for me, I was able to successfully avoid the score last Friday night. I did make the mistake of watching the first quarter live before leaving to the high school football game, probably the worst place to stop, so I spent the next three hours worrying about the game, the season... Thankfully it all worked out.
Please clear the field! The game is not over!
