Helton just got a whole lot closer to being fired. That was inept football by the Trojans in the 2nd half. At 5-5, USC is not even bowl eligible yet. Let's hope Cal has an emotional low next week after this hard-fought road victory. This is the first time they have beaten USC in 13 years.
But we have one more conference win. Let's make it two next week.

It's pretty conceivable that SC goes 5-7. They have UCLA and ND.

USC officially eliminated from the Pac-12 South title race, after today's second consecutive home loss. Pac-12 South down to Utah and the two Arizona schools, with the edge going to Utah on account of their easier remaining schedule.
Unbelievable to think that SC has 4 Pac-12 losses in a season in which they avoided both UW and Oregon, got Wazzu at home, and whose road games after their Pac-12 opener against us consisted of UA, Oregon State and UCLA (with 5 home games). Yes, SC is young at certain key positions (most notably QB), but an absolute disaster of a season for the Trojans, and I expect Helton to get fired as a result. SC should be winning the Pac-12 South by default, when the division lead is at 3 conference losses, with this schedule, not needing a win next week just to qualify for a bowl, because they will get absolutely destroyed by ND the following week.
