IIRC, he had a pretty minor injury that kept him out of a few games in his Senior season. Then, in the last game of his Senior season, that I saw live on line in the Georgia state championship game, he suffered the bad one.
He suffered a "set-back" in his recovery at Stanford in 2017, then had a less minor injury in September 2018.
Anyone have any other insight here? Both knees? Same knee? Type of injuries?
Actually the first injury was supposed to be the bad one, which was supposed to keep him out for most of his senior season, but he recovered more quickly than expected and played most of it.
After the injury in the state championship game, Mills was quoted as saying he could have gone back in, but was held out for precautionary purposes. From what I understand, though, he still wasn't able to go when fall practice started at Stanford. Not sure when he was actually able to start practicing. How serious the "setback" Shaw said he had was never disclosed.
As is typical of injuries to Stanford players, we haven't been given much information. Some people seem to think the injuries were ACL problems, but to the best of my knowledge this has never been actually disclosed.
