Hate to be a cynic on this, but he was supposedly healthy when they put him in against UC Davis last season. It took him all of about five plays to re injure his knee. I'll believe he's healthy when he goes in this fall (as he presumably will), plays a substantial amount, and comes out intact.

Hate to be a cynic on this, but he was supposedly healthy when they put him in against UC Davis last season. It took him all of about five plays to re injure his knee. I'll believe he's healthy when he goes in this fall (as he presumably will), plays a substantial amount, and comes out intact.

Mills is now at the point where if you get something from him it's got to be considered bonus.
I'm much more concerned about the fact Stanford has 18 guys out due to injury and only 40 bodies participating in first session of Spring drills. Even Andres Fox and Kendall Williamson, two of the best Frosh from 2018, are hurt. Only two WRs, Wedington and Wilson participating, which means even Fehoko and St. Brown, who played sparingly, are out.
The 2019 season prospects are looking pretty grim in mid-March. Even if everyone were healthy, Stanford hasn't filled its scholarship allotment with D1 recruits. Factor in injuries on an already limited roster, and then what must be the most brutal schedule in the country this season, and David Shaw has the greatest challenge he has ever faced as a head coach in 2019.

Typical Negative Nellie comment, but one I have to admit I somewhat agree with.
Mills may be healthy now, but he has been unable to get through the last three seasons he has played football without knee problems.
Will this one be any different? Well, as we always say, hope springs eternal.

Well, I agree with Phoebe. Mills is throwing but I don’t think his knee is fully recovered enough yet to be “full go”. But he’s at least good enough to be able to throw, which does require being able to put full weight on it.
There is of course there is always a possibility of a setback or reinjury.

Shaw said that Mills was farther along in the rehabilitation process than he expected him to be, so that certainly implies you are right, he probably isn't totally recovered and ready for full go yet.
Is it going to be full go for any of our QB's this spring in that they will allow them to be hit? I doubt it.

This many *announced* injuries means that there are a few more unannounced, I think. All is not well without solid leadership from the training/rehab staff, and why this hasn't been solved by now is highly irregular.
Finally, the number of retirees who left eligibility on the table does hint at more smoke/fire under the hood, and we can only hope that it was a random aberration.
