One key feature of the weekend series was the failure of the bullpen. 

The bullpen had struggles in all three games. While neither Palisch nor Miller were lights out, they gave performances that didn't doom the team the way the pen did. (maybe game two the doom had a pretty even contribution)
The offense was okay considering the quality of the pitching staff they were facing, with 15 runs for the series, 23 hits, and 6 home runs. 

So, all told I am not sure if I am now overly worried because what I thought was a solid bullpen fell apart so maybe it isn't so great; or I am fairly sanguine because the bullpen has proven itself over a season and a half now and long term should be fine. (And hey, it's baseball - there's enough randomness that a single series can go any which way.)

I'm worried about everything!

Offensively, there's too much swing and miss in our game.

Defensively, there are several who are out of position or are subpar defenders

Starting pitching lacks consistency and a go-to. Hoped Miller would be the horse but it's same old, same old and he's so deliberate that playing behind him is a nightmare

Relief...bringing Palisch back to the pen will help. That will give us two quality lefties and two quality right handers in front of Little

6 of Stanford's 7 conference wins have come over WSU and Utah, the two worst teams in the conference. They are a combined 1-20 so far. I think it is yet to be determined how good Stanford is.  The team needs to prove something to itself about its resiliency and capability, starting this weekend at home vs. Washington.

Well, we also won 3 out of 4 against #13 Texas (21-13; 20-10 against teams not named Stanford).

It beat Texas three of four, allowing the Horns only seven runs in four games.
The Horns turned around and swept LSU, currently #8,
and won two of three against #13 Texas Tech.

And yes, WSU and Utah aren't good teams, but Stanford overwhelmed them--
a total of 50-21 in six games.

UCLA looked decisively better, of course,
but they're the nation's best team right now.

Longer term, we'll need to recruit better to compete often for national championships.
The SEC is loaded.

If we can get more bat to break out--Brueser seems Candidate One--
we could be lethal.  

Still not buying the Beavers.  
They don't resemble last years team on offense.
