Two former major league players passed away yesterday. Both were known primarily for things other than what they did on the field. 

Ernie Broglio was traded for Lou Brock.

Pumpsie Green was the first black player for the Red Sox, the last team to integrate.

Does anybody remember what Broglio and Green had in common? I think this has come up before on this board.

Yes indeed! Ernie Broglio and Pumpsie Green both went to El Cerrito High. They were teammates. Green was Broglio's catcher.

I saw a preview of it last night and it featured a pic of him in a Seals uni.
