I caught a bout of sanity during my fourth winter there and skedaddled. I now work for a Philadelphia based firm out of their DC and Los Angeles offices. Still have my place in San Jose.

Great to be back, although I'm still a road warrior. Thinking I might settle in SoCal, especially if my oldest ends up living there permanently (he took a job with a firm in Santa Monica, very close to where we have an office). There's a lot I like about Southern California, and yes, I realize there's a lot not to like. My college roommate and goddaughter live down there. I have three nieces and nephews who attend or graduated from USC. My oldest wouldn't apply there -- he said he'd rather go to a JC -- and my youngest was on the campus for all of eight minutes before he turned around and started walking back to the car.
Still, I always enjoyed my trips down there, especially if Stanford was beating UCLA or USC...:D
