I don't pretend to be an expert talent scout for NFL players, but nothing of what you posed is confirmation that he wouldn't be better off as a slot receiver. Who could say if his stats wouldn't be even more off the charts playing that position? McCaffrey's been incredible and is carry an amazing load, but I do wonder about his career longevity with his current load, though. Hopefully Carolina kind figure out a QB situation that will relieve the load somewhat.

Frank has managed to come back from an ACL in 2002 spring practice at the U. Suffered another Grade 3 vs W. Va. in 2003. Fractured his hip during his Niner run but recovered in the offseason w/o surgery. A very tough guy. So is McCaffrey.

I think he felt he needed to prove his athleticism. Stereotypes are hard to shake.

Isn't it as simple as bad quarterback play? I didn't follow the team closely at all, but Cam Newton is a shell of himself due to injury and then the back up had some shining moments but ultimately isn't a great QB either.

In the NFL, the team will live and die based on QB play.
