Do they offer scholarships for "kicking the can" down the street and around the block? These people will sell out their sacred "student athletes" faster than TV networks can write checks for broadcasting rights. Which, come to think about it, will be pretty skinny in the foreseeable future. Thus, some panicky folks running amok today. https://www.sfchronicle.com/sports/annki...473512.php

I am confident Stanford University will honor scholarships so students can attend classes and graduate.
Not super confident that will be true everywhere. A number of schools need annual football revenue to pay for almost everything, do not have meaningful assets and carry a mountain of debt. Many of those institutions are regional public state schools that may not be able to ask their states for sports bailout cash while the government is unable to pay for far more essential community services (police, fire, teachers, unemployment benefits, etc.).

Rather some of the smaller regional schools that have traditionally struggled to find the funds to play D1 sports. The schools that build their schedule around securing Power 5 road game paydays and/or constantly ask their state officials for bailouts or subsidies.

PAC-12 guaranteed scholarships for opt-outs. Shouldn’t it be the same if the season is canceled?
Brett MacMurphy reports that Pac-12 has decided to go along with Big 10.

How binding was their commitment on that front? I would think the UC will have far greater needs for their funds and access to loans, especially since the State of California will be unable to help too much with emergency funds.

I would guess most of those that have loaned money to the UCB AD will work with them on restructuring terms, the UCB AD has access to enough revenue in more stable times that terms for restructured debt should be possible.

Can the AD declare bankruptcy and reorganize the loan?
