In reality not a loss at all Bobbbbb. He would not have stayed for a fifth year and if they play a six game schedule in January it doesn’t really mean anything. Rouse will get the reps and that’s a good thing if there is a real season in the Fall.
Just got of the phone with a friend who has a freshman at Florida. She and eight of her floor roommates have Covid. Over 1,000 students sick. TCU can’t field enough players to play SMU and same for Temple so no Navy game.

This sucks but Walter Rouse played well in relief of Walker. Hopefully, we won't feel this too much.

I wish him the best and certainly understand the decision. But I feel as though his Stanford career was one of unrealized potential. He only played 22 games for Stanford - 9 as a frosh (and part-time starter) in 2017, 12 games in 2018 when he made All Pac 12 and then the season opener in 2019 when he was injured.
Contrast that with Andrus Peat. About the same size as Little, about the same accolades entering Stanford. Played the same position. Peat played about 20 snaps a game as a true frosh, then started for 2 years. In 2014, Peat was 1st team All American and was named the Pac 12's top offensive lineman, winning the Morris Trophy. I was hoping for this caliber season from Little. Rouse now becomes the presumed LT starter with Myles Hinton the next "player of great potential."

Remember the promise of signing Sarrel and Little? Don't know if Stanford could have gotten less out of two 5 star OTs in the same class. I don't know if anyone is to blame, but wow was that not a lot of production for such elite recruits.

If there's one thing people have learned in Berkeley, it's that you can't put "Cal football" and "Rose Bowl" in the same sentence. The words just don't fit. You'd be better off linking "covered wagons" with "Mars travel." (Bruce Jenkins, Cal '70, SF Chronicle, Nov. 11, 2017)

Both have suffered injuries. Little had some injury issues prior to last year which limited in play for a few games and hampered his development. Their respective development (or lack thereof) most likely was also impacted by the injury situation that has occurred along the offensive line.

All of us old farts need to stop projecting our personal insecurities and health fears onto healthy 18-22 year-olds who will, in all likelihood, shake off Covid much like a dog shakes off water after being given a bath. The reason why death rates are dropping is because more younger people are getting the virus. "Toss you mask day" is, of course, ridiculous. But so are the panic buttons hit whenever an outbreak or surge occurs on a college campus.
Still waiting on all those media outlets that report on college outbreaks to follow up with how they are doing weeks later (and how the surge in cases did or did not impact local hospitals). Such negative impacts may be happening, and if so, it would be real news and alarming. (But there is some confidence that it's not happening because if it were, then you'd expect WaPo or NYT or some other established outlet to be all over that - I mean, think about the resources devoted to the Sturgis gathering). A bunch of college kids testing positive - especially early upon arrival on campus - is barely newsworthy.

And there was something extremely alluring/attractive about Emma Peel, and it wasn't just her looks.

Totally. At 47, I am probably younger than you meant by “of a certain age”. But as a young teen in the mid-80s, I watched reruns of every Avengers episode after school on TV-20. (Or maybe it was UHF channel 44?) I don’t remember too many show plots, but Diana Rigg in that character was unforgettable. She didn’t just walk around in a cat-suit - she had the brains, wit and power to kick people’s arses in it.
