I expected the admit rate to inch up. According to Harvard's reported numbers we are now the second most selective college in the country. https://college.harvard.edu/admissions/a...statistics

I imagine the lack of security that the country felt may have resulted in some parents really pressuring their kids to choose Harvard over Stanford in a cross-admit scenario. I'd love to see how many people chose to stay closer to home, as well.

Maybe not, since there will be a four-year hole from the students who deferred if next year's class is smaller.  If you had admit a normal size class next year, you'd be fine the next three years, and only have too many people in three years, when the freshman class are seniors.

Sounds like upperclass students are getting bumped to Sharon Green or what not...if the next academic year's pandemic situation allows for more on-campus student presence.

If the Overseas Study Program were up and running (and there's no guarantee of that), they could have just opened and filled more overseas slots somehow.

given this year had 1,607 enrollees and next year has 378 deferrals already I would target 1,475 new enrollees (if all frosh then that class would be 1,853 students).  Maybe they will take 100 transfers out of the 1,475 new enrollees next year to make the class of 2025 more normal in size and add some members to the class of '24 and '23.
