Much more entertaining than SU vs OSU.

Why?  In our game, both teams had over 400 yards of offense.   The lead changed several times.  It came down to a final forced fumble with 25 seconds remaining with the Beavs in chip shot FG range to tie the game.  Our QB was 21-29 passing with just under 300 yards.  We outscored them 11-3 in the 4th Q.  To me, that's entertainment.

The OSU v Stanford game also had much better coaching, on both sides.
OSU went for it on 4th and 1 early, made it and then got a TD.
OSU either tried to go for it or pretended to go for it on another 4th down play late in the game.
Stanford had a good 2 point conversion and had multiple long scoring drives.

Not a lot of really bad penalties by either team.  

Meanwhile in the Rose Bowl.   UCLA had a rather large 1H lead but managed to give up big plays resulting in quick TDs to let USC back in the game.
UCLA then had a late lead and started to celebrate their victory.
Then they had a very bad kickoff coupled with awful coverage that allowed USC to get great field position.
Then allowed USC to get a big play down inside the 10 in mere seconds.

If Coach Shaw coached like Chip I am very confident this board would say it was an awful game lost by turtle mode coupled with unbelievable bad 4th quarter choices that would be proof positive that the OC and DC need to go.

However, we should give massive props to Coach Shaw and the entire football team.   This stretch of wins on the road is impressive.  To know they are doing it without permanent facilities and with a full range of support staff that needed to transform into a road operation unexpectedly AND still conduct daily testing and operate with COVID related restrictions is more impressive than any thing other teams in the Pac-12 are doing right now.

It is easy for me to imagine other very good programs just crumbling under that pressure and having games similar to UofA's effort against ASU.

The bold part I agree with emphatically.
The rest, not so much.

The O was a little better yesterday, in terms of not telegraphing run v. pass (and I liked the inside TE screen for the big fella - even if it wasn't the prettiest looking play).  But in terms of not knowing where the play was going, OSU pretty much lapped Stanford.  And thanks to a very late fumble that bounced our way (and a prior Mills fumble that also did), Stanford held on for the W.

Being 3-3 for this squad is an accomplishment.  3-3 is . . . well, average.
Perhaps that is Stanford's ceiling for the foreseeable future.

Whatever one thinks about Stanford's football team right now, UCLA is going to be a good test. DTR can carve us up, as he did in 2019. The defense is going to have to step up. The game needs to be played at Stanford's tempo, or it is going to be a long day. OTOH, if it is played at Stanford's tempo and our offense is efficient, we can make it a long day for UCLA. Who will impose their will?

Colorado and Oregon beat both of us, although under different circumstances. UCLA beat Cal, Arizona and Arizona State. Hard to know how good they actually are. Cal was obviously discombobulated when they played UCLA. UCLA played well against USC, but not well enough. USC also had their typical share of inexplicable under-performances before letting the talent show through. In short, I think anything is possible in our next game.
