Roger Craig never pitched for the Giants. However he did play for the Niners. LOL.

Can’t pull up the YouTube. But if it’s the fracas I’m thinking it was 1987. Krukow did join the fray. And came out of it with an injured shoulder.
Krukow should have pitched game 7 in St.L. Hammaker did. And he was not a big game guy.

Hammaker was the best pitcher in baseball for the first half of 1983. Then Fred Lynn hit the All Star grand slam in Old Commisky and Attlee was never the same again. To this day the only All Star grandslam.

So true on Atlee. Giant pitchers have had some rough ASG appearances. I remember Reushel starting. Bo leading off. With that effortless swing Bo hit one about 450 to straightaway center. What a shame he got hurt. I’ve never seen a better athlete. And from everything I’ve read etc, a good guy to boot.

That's always been the narrative, but he won his next two starts after the ASG despite pain in his shoulder, went 1-5 the rest of the season and then underwent rotator cuff surgery which caused him to miss most of the 1984 season, at which point he indeed was never the same, as is common with pitchers who undergo that surgery (particularly back in those days.)
