It’ll be interesting also to see where Jenkins from usc and Daniels of cal end up

I wonder if anyone thinks Ohio State might knock off Texas, and if we get by Maryland how we would fare against McGuff and company? I'm not sure who to hope for in the Texas/Ohio State game.

The first round was about Francesca Belibi's dunk and the Cardinal's stifling defense against Montana State. Sunday's performance was about Lexie Hull's 36 points and Stanford's 13 3-pointers against Kansas. Success can take on many different forms for the Cardinal. No team is as diverse or versatile. There is no better example than this: Stanford has won its two games by an average of 33.5 points, and Haley Jones has a total of 11 points. The Cardinal even showed some explosiveness. They led the Jayhawks by only three at halftime, but the lead was 34 less than 14 minutes later. The defending NCAA champion's winning streak is up to 22 games, easily the longest in the country.

The result was particularly impressive because the LSU guards were the kind of lightning quick perimeter players that Stanford (indeed, most teams) would have real trouble defending. But tOSU weathered the one 1H run, led by LSU guards, and then just squeezed the life out of the home team. Texas may be better, but they'll have to play a very good game to knock off the Buckeyes.
Either will give Stanford a tough game.

Ohio State's 2nd leading scorer and leading 3 point shooter is Taylor Mikesell who played for Oregon last season.

Well, insofar as the Domers (a) would have to get through both NC State and likely UConn before we'd face them; (b) are therefore almost certainly not a team we'll face in the post-season; and © faced off against an Oklahoma team that, I kid you not, Massey rates as the 243rd best defense in the country, I guess a high scoring performance from the Domers rates as a mild upset that is of relatively little significance to us. By contrast, if we can get through Spokane, the fact that neither SCAR nor UConn looked like they passed the eyeball test for a national championship caliber team would be directly relevant for thinking about our next two weeks.
But I am glad Maya Dodson is getting to strut her stuff in a way she never really got to do for us!

Yes, they now have Stanford as the #1 #1, but potentially we're up against the #2 #2 (Texas). And Maryland is now rated a #3 seed. The semi-finals will be a challenge before we can even think about the difficulty of a Texas/OSU match. At any rate, to summarize the regions: SPOKANE has teams with the following seedings: #1 (Stanford); #2 (Texas); #3 (Maryland); #4 (OSU). BRIDGEPORT: #1 (NC State); #2 UConn; #2 Michigan; #4 South Dakota. WICHITA: #1 Louisville; #3 Iowa State; #4 Tennessee; $4 Creighton. GREENSBORO: #1 South Carolina; #2 Michigan; #4 North Carolina; #4 South Dakota.
If you add up the new seeding of the teams in each region -- you get a relative strength/difficulty of each region. On this metric, the most difficult region now is Bridgeport, with a total seed # of 9; next, Spokane with 10; then Greensboro with 11; then Wichita 12. Of course, this is all totally speculative and who knows that the real relative strengths are. To my unexpert eye, it looks as if Wichita is by far the weakest and this seed summary-based order makes sense. I do think Bridgeport now looks the most challenging to get out of, but Spokane isn't going to be at all easy.

Love this coach and her straight forward explanations of her approach to Arizona. Her comments start at 10 minutes in, but it is all good. She alludes to the fact her point guard at Princeton was considering a transfer to Stanford or Arizona and Coach Courtney convinced her to follow her to UNC.
