How truly humiliating for Stanford to play a game at 30K capacity San Jose State, let alone two. I'm not saying Stanford is too big of a program with too large of a fan base to do this, but it SHOULD BE.
For the record, I was at the last game Stanford played in Spartan Stadium, on a mud bog that has since been replaced with fake grass, so at least that won't be an issue.

Much rather play games in 30k stadiums against teams like SJSU if the alternative is playing in 80k stadiums against professional teams with players on NIL fig leaf contracts.

I don't necessarily mind going to Spartan Stadium. It's fun to go to an away game within the metro area.
Having the games @Stanford be on the Thanksgiving weekend is dumb, though. These should be early September games, not end of the year games. I suppose they are relying on SJSU and Stanford fans being in town to goose numbers and that is the strategy there. (And maybe our September slots are already filled for those seasons? I'm too lazy to look.)

That is going to happen in the Pac-12 too, right? Why not become independent and cherry pick playing the schools that align with Stanford's values? Cal should follow suit. I doubt either school has the balls to walk away from all the TV money they get from the big sports.

Yeah I'm not envisioning a smooth path there, but I would much rather watch a team of actual student athletes playing in a small stadium than a team of mercenaries on the big stage. I think it's more humiliating to pimp out your school's name to a semipro football team than to play in small stadiums.
How we get to that point I can't really say, and maybe it really just isn't possible working within the NIL guidelines SCOTUS has decreed.

SCOTUS hasn't said anything about NIL rules.
And Stanford leaving the PAC-12 in non-revenue/Olympics sports would have ruinously bad consequences both financially and competitively.
I think median outcome here is Stanford fields a regionally competitive D1 football program but probably isn't a serious contender for national significance anymore, but otherwise retains its prominence in most other sports. NIL/collectives are not going to change the landscape in ways Stanford can't keep up on anywhere but football and probably men's basketball (and it's not like we've had a lot of success there, lately, either).

The reallocation of donor money to NIL collectives rather than AD budgets would seem to augur that nationwide, non-revenue sports will be contracting in the long term. I'm not really sure that the conferences as they are today will look very similar in 10 years.

We are going through a period of a lot of change in collegiate athletics. A lot of possible scenarios in the mid-term, one of which is that Stanford, possibly with a few other schools, decides to get off the treadmill.
A few years ago, I’d have been very upset by that outcome, but right now, there’s a decent chance that the outcome that involves collegiate sports being a semi-sanctioned professional minor league is worse.
To quote Kenny Rogers, “know when to walk away; know when to run”

I'm happy San José State is back on the schedule. They're still our eighth-most played opponent. And until recently they were even ahead of Wazzu on our all-time list.

I'm guessing the November games are replacing matches we previously scheduled against BYU. I think it might be helpful for the conference, at least, because the timing of the ND games against Stanford and USC can create some difficulties in coming up with the conference football schedule. We end up having an odd number of teams when one is occupied with Notre Dame. Some years we've even had one conference team end on a bye. Perhaps this helps relieve the pressure.

I like Stanford playing San Jose State. San Jose State had made it very clear they weren't going to do anything but home and home, so if we wanted to play them at all, that was the deal. Back "in the day" when Stanford had a much bigger stadium and could draw 67K fans to see SJS, saying our place or no place was a rational option. Today, it isn't. Glad they are back on the schedule.

I like SJS because I think I recall they had BBQ tri tip and suds.
