Harrison Ingram is routinely being guarded by someone much smaller, but we have him floating on the perimeter. And in the first half we had him bringing the ball up the Court. What kind of stupidity is this? Post him up!
I've been saying the same for years. We have Raynaud dribbling from outside the 3-point line. Criminal misuse of players.
Ingram is the one guy you have they can really create and distribute the ball. You’re not gonna waste him by sticking him down on the block. Do you even know if he can play with his back to the basket? Post play is not something that you get a whole lot of these days.
The days of taking a seven footer (Reynaud) and sticking him on the block are over. It’s not the way the games played anymore. It’s a simple as that

Look at the teams on the floor and if you can suggest to me that Stanford has close to the talent San Diego state does well we’re watching different basketball games. The quickness difference is massive. And Stanford’s shooting is atrocious. With good looks
As with the football team, the issue is that players don't develop under Haase, and the way they are used, the whole is less than the sum of its parts. Someone like Mike Montgomery, given a couple years to develop the players, could have gotten them to play well enough to defeat SDSU. We regularly held our own against teams with more athletic and quicker players, and that is because Montgomery developed players.
BC
No. That is because Montgomery coached in a completely different era. At the time when you actually could take bigs and stick them down in the block. Post players. Like Adam Keene. Because they actually knew how to do it. The game is not played that way anymore BC. It’s simply not.
Obviously he was a very good coach. And I suspect he would have adjusted to today’s style. But if you look at those teams he would have a Reveno , Keefe, Wright, bigs that play down low. Few and far between these days
