Basically, he (Dennis Dodd) thinks UW and NikeU end up in Big 10 and we end up one of the four leftovers, along with Cal, OSU and Wazzu, trying to hook up with SMU, SDSU, and whatever other Mountain West teams (Boise, Fresno, etc) will have us.
He remains strangely optimistic about Stanford, saying our presence in other (non-revenue) sports is a big factor in attracting partners/conferences.
I once thought anything other than a Power conference affiliation means we should be looking at FCS instead, like the Ivies. But the only other FCS programs in our time zone are Cal Poly, Davis, Sac State, Portland St and Eastern Washington. Might as well drop FB if we're gonna settle for that kind of media footprint, IMHO.
