Mays got hits his first two times up, but “only” finished 2 for 5, .347
Clark hit second that day I believe. HR was his first major league swing. HR to straight away CF. Which was darn hard to do in the Astrodome. IIRC Nolan struck him out second time up.
Not sure if it's correct and I may be getting my players confused, but was listening to a story the other day on KNBR. Clark hit the homer, got back to the dugout and chatted with a veteran and Clark asked: "He's going to hit me next time, right?" "Yup." Baseball in the good ole days. . .. .

Lonborg played from the mid 1960s to the 1970s. The longest career belongs to a player who played between the 1970s and 1990s.
One of the others played solely in the 1970s. And one played between 1915 and 1924.
McDowell played between 1987 and 1999. Two other players played between the mid 1980s and mid-1990s.
The rest all started their MLB careers between 1990 and 2010.
