With the Coach leaving, this was not unexpected. The NFL was always an option. Oregon State no longer being in a P5 conference probably makes staying there untenable for many players with NFL aspirations. There will undoubtedly be more defections. Yet another horrible "side effect" of the P-12 dissolution.

Man, I feel bad for OSU. They have so much working against them, and yet they've had more success at both Football and MBB in the past half decade than we have, with all our resource, geographic, and prestige advantages. Hard not to root for the Beavs.

This is a bit of a "wow" for Kelly and UCLA. Moore was supposed to be the "QB of the future" starting in 2023. That obviously didn't pan out. He just wasn't very good. UCLA was a much better team with Garbers playing than with Moore. It could be argued Moore was tossed into the deep end before he was ready. Kelly doesn't have much right now for 2024. Garbers will be back, and if healthy he could be "just fine" as the Bruin QB. Staying healthy is a big if however. Getting somebody from the portal is a possibility, but that is never a "sure thing".
