Could be worse. There's been a national decline in college enrollment. The CSU system peaked in 2020, and their enrollment has beend eclining ever since,
in spite of the deal with the state government that the system attract more native Californians and graduate them at higher rates.
Seven campuses are missing their enrollment targets by 10% or more, including Chico State, CSU-East Bay (f/k/a/ Hayward State), Sonoma State, Cal Maritime, San Francisco State, CSU Channel Islands, Humboldt State, also Dominguez Hills. SJSU, Long Beach State, Northridge not affected. Fullerton and CSU-LA are facing cuts.
