That's great!  I just wish we could see her dunk like that in every game.

UCLA vs Colorado 10am tomorrow pac12 network
Oregon vs cal 1pm pac12

RE: General WBB Dec. 2021 - WBB fan - 01-09-2022

UCLA / Colorado is tight, but looks as if Colorado is going to prevail, up 7 with 2 min to go. UCLA hanging in there well, though in their 1st game in nearly a month. Of real concern for them, Osborne went down midway through the 4th quarter with what looks like a really severe ankle sprain -- had to be helped off the court.

Stanford at Colorado next Friday. The Buffs are undefeated this season. Colorado has played Stanford as tough as any conference team not named Oregon recently.

Yes they have, and they have all their players back from last year iirc, including Jaylynn Sherrod and Mya Hollingshed, who gave us fits.  Not to mention their coach JR Payne who has beaten us now with two different programs.  That and the elevation advantage will make it a challenge.  But we get ahead of ourselves.  We have a big challenge today, in a couple of hours, with a revenge-minded Gonzaga coming to town.  They wouldn't have accepted the invitation at the last minute unless they thought they could win.

I only have had a time to watch a little of the UCLA - Colorado game.   I felt CU acted like brats: complaining about obvious fouls they made, and faking to get fouls called on the other team.

It works more often than not for them.

After last season's game, I've got a feeling that our team will be especially motivated to crush the Buffalo girls, especially if they are still undefeated when we play them.

USC over AZ 74 to 65 40seconds left

RE: General WBB Dec. 2021 - joemontes - 01-09-2022

Erswhile undefeated #4 Arizona about to go down to USC, thanks to USC MUIRA's 3-pt shooting barrage
in the 4th quarter.

Update:  USC defeats #4 Arizona, 76-67.

Therefore, Colorado is the only remaining undefeated squad in D1 women's basketball.  Time for Stanford
to erase that as well.

RE: General WBB Dec. 2021 - WBB fan - 01-09-2022

USC won, 76-67. Colorado is the only undefeated team left -- let's take them off that list as well!

Color me surprised/shocked by this one. I suppose when someone goes 5/6 from 3, almost anything is possible, but still...

This is why we play games.

I've wondered all year how good Arizona really is.  We beat them handily 2 times last year before the nailbiter in the championship game.  They also lost some I believe in conference down the stretch last year.  They went on a tear in the NCAAs but it was hardly expected, and losing McDonald was a titanic blow.  Their best win this year was defeating Louisville, which I suspect is not as strong as its ranking.  So perhaps USC just exposed Arizona as a weaker team this year than many expect.  Oregon with a 4 losses seems like a much stronger team to me.

I agree. Oregon will beat Ariz by 10.

I’ve watched several Arizona games this season. They’ve looked pretty average in a lot of them. Oregon will be the team to challenge us for the title. Pac12 with only 2 ranked teams is down this year. UCLA looks pretty average. Not sure what to make of Oregon State as they are yet to play a Pac12 game.

But after watching tonight's games, I'd put Oregon as our biggest challenger to winning the conference championship. Oregon has 5 loses  (albeit with several injuries and key players out) on the season and Arizona is undefeated. Oregon looks like the better team. Arizona to me seems to be more of a pretender than contender, although they will win plenty of games and finish in the top half of the conference. Not sure what to make of UCLA or Oregon State as neither team has had a game in quite some time with lots of cancellations.

I worry about our match up with Colorado coming up.  They have beaten us with the same players they now have, and they have two outstanding players indeed to go with an aggressive defensive coach.  But they are not as complete or as deep a team as a healthy Oregon.  Colorado at home might have as good a shot at beating us as Oregon, but I think Oregon has a better shot at winning the conference than Colorado.  Hopefully we will quash both of their hopes.

RE: General WBB Dec. 2021 - mbdude - 01-10-2022

Person I worry about is Quay Miller - transfer from Washington. Very agressive, big, physical post. Has been coming off bench early for Buffs

Ware and Pellington did not play for AZ

That's great!  I just wish we could see her dunk like that in every game.

Even if doing so is legal, for a college (or professional) athlete to promote the consumption of a company's indisputably unhealthy food product in return for the company putting money in the endorsing athlete's bank account is arguably ethically irresponsible.

The WBB team has an NIL
Brink has one
Haley has one
Jump has one
