I would anticipate a number of the SS’s will move to other positions. For example, I read that the latest addition, Joniel Hernandez, may wind up as a center fielder. It all depends on how the mature as players. It is a nice problem to have…..

They already tried to spend their way out of a bad situation. It didn’t work. The only way they can turn things around at this point is:
Find some guys who can effectively cover the 7th, 8th and 9th innings between now and the start of next season (whenever that is).
Hope the guys they acquired in the recent trades can mature rapidly.
Look forward to the day when the players currently in Eugene and Richmond graduate to SF.
Lastly, goodbye and best wishes to a Forever Giant who belongs in the Hall of Fame - Mike Krukow. We will miss you, Mike.

It's almost a physically painful experience to listen to non-Giants broadcasters. Kruk and Kuip put all those guys to shame.

US network sports broadcasting in general has gotten severely terrible. It's as if the networks are promoting guys who simply know how to constantly sound incredibly excited - for the entire game. Examples: John Strong (World Cup for Fox), Ryan Ruocco (WBB, NBA). Hate both of those guys. There's no intelligence, just relentless hyping and screaming.

Tugboat has been doing decently well in AAA. I don't think he has the velocity to be a success up here, but he couldn't be any worse, right?
BTW, Arraez has hit .245 since he left SFG, and Heliot Ramos is hiting .083 since the trade.

SFG has given up the fifth most walks in baseball (467). Conversely, they have only walked 327 times, fewest in baseball. They are scoring 4.1 rpg, T23 in MLB. They are giving up 4.65 rpg, 20th in baseball. And they are 21st in defensive Rtot.
A one-point-six gpa. Congratulations, Mr. Kroger. You're at the top of your pledge class.

What drives me nuts about the Gaints, volume #825...
The Giants have the second worst record in the National League at 58-81. The Braves have the third best record in the NL, just a game behind the Dodgers at 82-57.
Somehow, some way, the Giants finished 5-1 vs. the Braves this season, outscoring them 30-15. BTW, the Braves are the Giants-East. On the Braves roster are former Giants Mike Yastrzemski, Mauricio Dubon, Dominic Smith, Chadwick Tromp, Joey Bart, and Tyler Mahle (trraded for Anthony Molina, tonight's winner).

I listened to yesterday's game via the Braves broadcast on Sirius XM and heard another bit of trivia:
The Giants have won the season series vs the Braves by a 5-1 w/l margin for two years in a row. The last time the Giants accomplished that feat vs the Braves? 1904-05.

Devers has seven home runs over his last 13 games dating to his Aug. 21 blast against his former team, the Boston Red Sox. It's a stunning show of power considering he had two home runs through his first 36 games this year.
He's the first player in league history to hit two or fewer homers through his first 36 games while still reaching 30 homers before September.
