Feldman doesn't count? He played guard for Stanford, and was head coach for the Raiders.

But the NFL recognizes AFL records as of their 1970 merger, do they not? Even the early 1960s records, like Gilchrist's single game rushing record or Marty Feldman's one year coaching record of 1-13? (Maybe he wants to forget it...)

Feldman never coached as a head coach in the NFL. But since I had no idea he played at Stanford you win

He lettered in 1946 and 1947.  He also played rugby. Must have been quite a player, he's in Stanford's Hall of Fame for rugby:

Plunkett, Benjamin, Brodie, Garrett, McColl. And I think it was discontinued when I was in high school, sometime in the late '70s.

Mick had Benjamin above, though he was 1978, the second to last time it was awarded. I glanced at the winners, and my pastor from awhile back was the second runner up--Donn Moomaw
