Hard for me to believe, but I have been surprised before.
In my mind, Tempie would be the assistant most capable of taking over for a year. Not sure she would want that, though. I get the impression that we had to woo her back from private life to get her to come back for her second stint.
I believe the allegations are in this tweet:

Others in this thread have heard similar accounts. But as far as I can tell, there are no public first person allegations. That’s not to cast doubt on the source, which I find credible and I there is enough circumstantial support to take the allegations seriously, but there is definitely a difference between vague allusions to bullying and specific allegations by a current or former player about specific events. Note also that Bob says that Somfai took her concerns to HR, so just because players haven’t said anything publicly doesn’t mean they haven’t done so through internal channels (and I hope that, if true, they did).

Unfortunately, I don’t think she would be the right person. The allegations are tied to Kate and some of the assistants. However, what’s being alleged hasn’t been quoted by any player but sources close to the program.
You can read some stuff here and he’s been right about some stuff regarding the transfer portal.

There are many reasons why players should not discuss this publicly and I certainly believe that they should not! Also, as BostonCard says, players may have brought these issues up internally. None of this should be public information and I don't expect to hear these allegations in public.
What I would like to hear or see is some action from the Athletic Department about six players in the transfer portal and allegations against the coaching staff. Stanford can't wait until all the players leave and the portal closes to react - otherwise, this is a key failure of the Athletic Department management directly.

She attempted 124 threes this past season, and made 36. To my eye, many of those threes were pure free lance, not the play drawn up.
By comparison, Nneka shot only 28 threes in her entire LSJU career, Chiney 19, Appel just 3. Brink shot 177 threes, made less than 30%, and has endorsements, tv commercials and magazine covers.
Agree that Somfai shooting threes almost always looked like Not-the-play this season. As when Cam Brink would also put up a lot more than I thought really fit well. I realize a big at least showing as a three threat can help draw out the Defense. But if that collapses into the big actually taking a lot of threes I think it's a problem. In fact there's 2 problems with college bigs shooting a lot of threes in my mind, a) usually (for most bigs) their shooting percentage isn't that good, b) you have removed potentially your best offensive rebounder from the play. Seeing a college O where the bigs are shooting up a lot of threes almost always feels like a failed offense scheme to me.

Perhaps TCU was the only school that met *her* requirements- some of which might surprise. Wish her agent would speak up.

TCU (ie Mercenary U) is definitely not the stop I would have expected for an academically minded player who still needs years of basketball development to reach her potential. Duke, Vandy, UCLA, UConn would have been more appropriate choices in my opinion. But then again, I know nothing.

I love Lara's game and was hoping she'd land at Duke or UCLA. Coach Kara and Coach Cori are outstanding mentors and understand how to utilize talent and support them as young women. Having said that, excited that Lara will be playing for Coach Campbell. There are many TCU haters across the country who call "The Horned Frogs" 'Transfer City', but in this age of the portal and NIL, Coach Campbell understood very early there would be no going back to the old days and he has taken advantage of what the game has become and has used the portal effectively (in his 3 years at TCU), to develop some high-performing teams.
Coach Campbell also understands how to use and develop talent. Lara will be in good hands.
Hey, I nailed it in another thread on Monday(?), though I did mix up TCU and Texas Tech. Anyway, I noted that TT had pried Olivia Miles out of ND, and paid a chunk to convince Suarez to leave Cal. Coach Campbell has built an excellent program in just a few years through use of the portal. They offer big bucks and the players like him alot. TCU knows to come looking at Stanford for fist rate talent and people...Canady, and also BB player Montgomery, I think.

Per other fan site, schools were offering Somfai close to 1million in the portal and supposedly Stanford was approaching that amount to keep her. In other words, Stanford was VERY competitive on the money side.
She still opts to transfer citing the TCU coaches as the reason.
Stanford has NIL money to offer. Players still leaving. Not good.

As others have said in other contexts, so much for the 40-year decision. Somfai (and Amborn) didn't make it to 40 weeks!
Montgomery turns 23 next week and is in AA at Birmingham (White Sox affiliate). In 462 career minor league at-bats, his OBP is .361 and OPS is .805
Canady is a senior at Texas Tech and so far this season has allowed 42 hits in 92+ innings, with 133 Ks.

Yep. And Rex Maurer (NCAA swimming champion) and Emmett Mosley V (football) are at UT Austin.

Obviously not good, but I feel like historically, we have felt that we haven't had the NIL resources to keep pace.
If Stanford decides to begin anew with a new coaching staff, then we might have a chance to rebuild and begin a new chapter in the women's basketball program.
But we need to do it - now. Next season is lost, but if we can get something in place, then we can build towards the end of the decade again.
I wouldn't have imagined just 5 years removed from a national title, that we've fallen so severely as a program, even when you factor in NIL.

So many times I read here that Stanford has NIL money to offer. I have no idea what that means. Is it $10K/year in addition to the standard athletic scholarship, $50K/year, $100K/year. Just a ball park number for one of the better players/prospects.
Also I thought NIL money had to come from a private company approved by the clearinghouse (except for small amounts from gear with a player's name). Am I wrong? Who is putting together these NIL deals. I never read any specifics about this.
