In the previous match, Lizzy Andrew had 17 kills and 12 blocks.

Demaria played quite well in the previous match (13K, 7B) but didn't get on the court today.

My problem with this is nothing experimental - players or play-wise - happened in the third. It was set 1 vs. Wisconsin where everything was a bit worse. Passing was a bit off so the middles didn’t get very involved. Parks was off including the mis-set. I believe they had a single block. Serving was off. For my eye, that is all focus and it’s a pattern for several years now that they can’t seem to overcome.

I also remain baffled that we have gone years now without an impactful DS; so why not try MBs serving?

Demaria had 13 kills but also 8 hitting errors for a net of 5 (on 39 attempts) on Thursday.

Today, Kurt had 14 kills with only 4 errors on 35 attempts. A much better hitting percentage (0.286 vs. 0.128).

I'm hoping Demaria continues to improve and be a valuable OH option.

What could go wrong? Nebraska playing an unranked team in Wrigley Stadium that started at 8pm local time.

Court is built on a platform in the middle of Wrigley Stadium. Televised on Fox. High humidity. I'm reading about it in real time on a message board. Not motivated enough to turn on my TV.

Dew Point has been reached or something happened just when match started. Players slipping all over the place. One poster said it was like them skating on ice. A few plays into the match and it was paused.

All the players wiping the court with towels. Then an army of maintenance employees show up with leaf blowers. Play has been stopped for 40 minutes as of this post. Announcers trying to fill time with much about nothing.

Someone can fill in the ending of the story. I'm headed for bed.

Statement on the Nebraska website:
"Due to weather conditions affecting the court surface, Sunday's volleyball match between Nebraska and Missouri has been suspended.
Despite best efforts and in collaboration with all parties, rescheduling at Wrigley Field is not possible.
A decision on match continuation at the point of suspension will be announced at a later date."

ETA: This article says the coaches will decide about resuming the match at some point, not this week.

This week's AVCA poll shows that Stanford dropped from #3 to #4.

I was confused, because I was pretty sure Stanford was #4 last week. It was in StanfordWVB IG.
But I recall AVCA had their record was wrong.

So rechecked last week's poll, and it does now show Stanford at #3:

Your recollection is correct as far as the ranking of Stanford.
Here's a Sep. 2 copy of the "Aug 31 poll" showing Stanford (2-0) as 4th with 1411 points, Kentucky (3-1) as 3rd with 1461 points.
Indeed, the current (Sep 7) page you linked to has the "Aug 31 poll" showing Stanford (2-0) as 3rd with 1416 points and Kentucky (3-1) as 4th with 1411 points.

During that week we were simultaneously ranked both third and fourth. The end state wasn't determined until a week later.

BobK and I were trying to remember the name of the tall, left-handed opposite Stanford had a few years ago.
Something reminded me of Hayley Spelman. Had to google her to find out if she is a lefty. When I typed her name, google suggested "hayley spelman other mommy" which certainly seemed strange. Went to the link:

So she is appearing in an upcoming horror movie, called "Other Mommy", starring Jessica Chastain. Coincidentally, I saw the trailer for this recently, and it is definitely creepy.

I applaud the effort,” Busboom Kelly said. “But there’s a reason why our sport is indoor.” And then: “There’s a lot of amazing indoor arenas or football fields indoor or baseball fields that have domes,” Busboom Kelly said. “I think there’s some opportunities to do some incredible things for volleyball. I do not think outdoor is what we should be doing.”
