- serve reception has to be better. Especially Kurt who was a mess in this one, including 4 of the 7 reception errors.
- the Parks setting whiff blew the first set. The next point she was rattled and her sets were off. Then Kurt got aced. It went from 20-20 to 20-23 in a flash. Set basically over.
- Andrew and Blyashov were great. Kurt and Harvey couldn’t get much going.
- second set - just ugh.
- serving wasn’t great.

Stanford actually outpassed TAMU.

I have a different view. There are a few "fans" on here that take a "The grass is always browner on this side of the fence" view of the Stanford teams, despite Stanford having clearly the best sports program in the country for decades. They blame the players, the coaches, the AD, and on up the chain.

If you're sick of someone pointing out that a two time-zone travel may contribute to a poorer-than-expected performance, maybe you should consider stopping reading about it.

This is another example of why I have drastically cut back my participation on this thread. You are more interested in insulting me than posting something of relevance about the volleyball team.

Your advice about what I should read or not read falls on deaf ears. I will take advice from others that is of some value.

we now return to our regular scheduled programming.

Having a much more difficult time then expected with Penn State. Of course the Stanford team is a slow starter. 15-13 us.

More difficult than expected? Did you watch A&M game? Penn State is ranked #12 and playing in front of a home crowd.

Serve receive is an issue in certain rotations again. Kurt is the serving target and it’s worked going at her.

I think we’ve battled so far and setting (knock on wood) has not been problematic thus far. Better effort for sure. Too many service errors especially when we are on a runs kills momentum.

Great example of what I meant when I said to Stanford team lacks killer instinct. They give up. I don’t know how many straight points set tied at 23 now they’re up 24-23.

First set: Stanford 8 service errors Penn State none. Stanford one ace Penn State four. Maybe coach Hambly needs to rethink his strategy.

We are very overrated. We are a top 25 team not top 5 or even 10. Games vs Az State, @SMU, @Pitt coming up. It could be a tough rest of September.

We just seem to not have a lot of fight when things are tough.

Honestly not surprised at the sweep. I thought Wednesday result would have a carry over. So did the setter change help? Or this an open competition?

Anyone watching the stream? We seem to be off to a slow start again down 12-9. Setting change seems to not be making much of a difference so far.
