I unfortunately am dealing with limited internet so I don’t think I can manage it.
Last year against us Duke parked their LB as a far left forward. A straight up 334 on offense; and it caused all kinds of problems in a 4-0 loss. We also had no speed to counter by that point; so Duke suffered exactly zero for taking that risk. Don’t think they can do that this year. If they can, we are in deep trouble.
But I haven’t watched Duke much this year for better information. I know their defense has been very good - no goals in the tournament and 21 on the season.
Duke is also better on offense - 7th in goals scored. Which team can keep the other on its heels will be key. I still expect Duke to be faster, but Stanford to be better at soccer. I just hope it’s not too much faster.
This will be a much tougher test than what we have had so far. As I said earlier., I was very glad they were not a 2or 3 seed in our bracket.

Thanks, that is good data.
FSU just scored late second half, midair volley by Hudson, her 14th goal of the season. This after their goalie flubbed an outlet kick right to TCU, which somehow shot wide of the open goal.

Shortly afterwards, there was — in my opinion — an obvious handball by FSU in its penalty area. But amazingly, the ref said “no PK” after video review.

FSU wins 1-0. TCU had a great chance in the final few seconds, saved by the goalie.
Let's go Card!

That sure seemed like a hand ball in the box to me. I would be very frustrated if I were a TCU fan.
No Bhuta in the Stanford starting lineup (or Boamah). Freer and Smith are the starting outside backs.

Well I followed along on the play by play - not at a place where I could watch. But all right now!

They had one or two very good chances to score. We had a couple more than they did and the score remained the same.

I already said that Aikey is the best shooter off set pieces since Macario, but this is more proof.

Announcers said they had also scored a goal in every game this season.

Anyone now if Bhuta will be back by Monday? I still think our best line-up is having Freer at center back and Bhuta on the right. Also wish that Boamah were healthier - I think she's faster than Smith on the left.

On Ailey’s goal, why did the Duke wall turn their heads away? Had they kept their heads erect one of them would have blocked the shot
Easy for me to wonder …

Perhaps, but it would have hurt.

Here are the highlights. Duke had its chances, but Stanford had more and higher quality ones. This was not a case where we escaped with a win we didn't deserve; it easily could have wound up 3-1.

It’s really close but I don’t think so. Regardless, you aren’t asking the wall to take it in the face - you just don’t want anyone ducking. At worst the wall did 99% of what is was supposed to do. That is Aikey just hitting an elite free kick.

Forecast for 6 pm Central in KC, MO is 34 degrees and clear (it will be dark however) and a 9-mph breeze coming in from the south.
Sounds like football weather.
