RE: WSU-Oregon - BostonCard - 10-20-2018

Oregon still has not converted a third down, but they’ve converted two fourth downs.

RE: WSU-Oregon - d4cohn - 10-20-2018

What is this playcalling from Oregon? Straight garbage.

Three straight runs, and then attempting a field goal in a 20 point game. Why?

RE: WSU-Oregon - French Rage - 10-20-2018

Hasn't anyone commented on the utter ugliness of the gray versus silver uniform matchup?  People, just use your normal goddam uniform.  (Yes this applies to us and the black unis too.)

RE: WSU-Oregon - BostonCard - 10-20-2018

Oregon converts their first third down.

RE: WSU-Oregon - d4cohn - 10-20-2018

Wow. Cristobal is terrible at managing the game. Second timeout burned, already only 16:30 left in the game, and you are down 17. Further compounds the point that trading four minutes of clock for 3 points (in a 20 point game) is a terrible trade.

Way too many underneath routes and runs that take too long. For all of their quick-strike reputation, this Oregon offense is suprisingly slow.

RE: WSU-Oregon - BostonCard - 10-20-2018

Don’t look now, but Oregon is within 10.

They are still making their comeback bid unnecessarily more difficult with the playcalling, burned timeouts, and game management on Cristobal's part in general.

The Coug fans have that look on their faces.  They have seen the Cougs Coug it before.  It's not looking good right now . . .

Don't "turtle" it Cougs. :)

RE: WSU-Oregon - martyup - 10-20-2018

Okay, right now is it better for Stanford if the Cougs hang on to win or Coug it?  I say that if they Coug it, they might be deflated to the point that they don't get fired up to play Stanford in Palo Alto.

I think we can beat WSU at home. Can't count on Oregon losing again if they comeback in this game.

RE: WSU-Oregon - BostonCard - 10-20-2018

Maybe Washington state should have taken a page from the Shaw playbook and tried to turtle a bit?

They’ve had two pass heavy series.  One resulted in a three and out taking less than two minutes off the clock and the other resulted in an interception.

I dunno.  I thought we could beat Utah at home.

I am actually going to agree with your argument re Shaw turtling, in this instance for Washington State. Too much time remaining.

Still think Washington State holds on here, a la our win over Oregon in 2013. Too big of a hole from 1st half, and Oregon's offense not moving fast enough to increase number of chances on offense. Can't really see them getting the ball more than 3 times in this game. Possible they only have two drives left.

RE: WSU-Oregon - d4cohn - 10-20-2018

Well, here is the game for Oregon.

5:30+ more off the clock, and only three points to show for it. Oregon still in a world of trouble, needing a touchdown, and likely only going to get one chance to score (at most) with only one time out remaining. Any points from the Cougs, or even a couple of first downs, would all but ice the game away.

RE: WSU-Oregon - martyup - 10-20-2018

Ducks draw to within 7.  Butterflies in the bellies of Coug fans. This is the feeling that I had at the end of the ASU game.

RE: WSU-Oregon - BostonCard - 10-20-2018

Can WSU take some time off the clock?  There’s still almost 7 minutes left in the game.

Oregon only has one timeout left, burning two on offense. Cristobal is definitely a first year coach. But yes, move the ball and pick up some first downs.

WSU WR just saved the game. Unreal catch.

RE: WSU-Oregon - BostonCard - 10-20-2018

What a play by the receiver to rip it away from the DB to convert an interception into a catch.
