I disagree, Phogge. Maples will be rocking for Stanford women's basketball, and I'm looking forward to it!
What's the all-time record attendance at Maples for women's BB??
7,500

That's capacity. I was unaware of (or had forgotten) how small Maples is.

I scored a couple Sky Deck passes for Friday night, so I'll be donating my tickets back to Stanford rather than deal with trying to sell them on Stubhub. The tax writeoff is probably more than I'd get selling them anyway.
Sec 135, Rows G&H on the aisle at the 25. PM me if you're interested.

The stadium should be empty. Pick up a free game ticket or buy the cheapest from Stubhub to get in the gate and sit wherever you want. Some say the first five rows of the upper deck offer the best views of the action.
Buy mine! First row (A) upper deck, Sec 235 about the 17-yard line, less than face value on StubHub. Great sightlines and no one in front of you.
so you don't think my view will be blocked by throngs of highly motivated alumni?

Well, the atmosphere won't be quite the same as Wisconsin's Jump-Around.

That sure is some amazing CGI. Must have taken hours upon hours to produce....wait those people were real?!? Oh my god!!!
Stanford isn't Nebraska...oh, wait Stanford was once better than Nebraska. Some dude named Harballs came in and worked his onions off and flipped Stanford upside down and bowed to no one.
Now Stanford is stuck with the "Bow Master".

You're confusing Utah with BYU.
LDS people support BYU because many of them are of the belief that supporting the school shows support for the LDS church and paints a positive light when so many fans/members are shown in the stands. We watched a part of the Baylor/BYU game and one of our group noted that of the 6 BYU flags/banners shown on TV, all of them still had the crease lines where they were in the package.
On the other hand, very few if any LDS people find any reason to support Utah. In fact many of them, if not a majority, feel it proper to root against Utah because they feel that it's important to show that they support their school *and* their religion and actively discourage any support for Utah.

Yeah. My first time checking out the new stadium was in the Walt Harris era when the team was utterly hopeless. It must have been a similar feeling yesterday, but much worse since our expectations are so much higher after a long run of success.

It was a different feeling in the stadium last night than in 2001-2006.
Back then it was more a sense of sadness and futility. But the crowd would still cheer for the team and the occasional good play, because that’s all we expected from an afternoon in the stadium.
Last night the crowd was dead silent aside from our lone score and a few scattered defensive third downs. The feeling was more one of frustration, anger, and dark humor, because you just had to laugh.

Yes. I really meant similar only in the sense that someone coming to check out the stadium for the first time would think "nice stadium, terrible team." Actually both my first time in the Walt era and yesterday, I sat with friends who were experiencing just that.

I think you mean 2002. 2001 was a good year and if Caleb Bowman catches the pass Stanford goes to the Rose Bowl.

Yes, 2001 was the Seattle bowl year and TW’s last year at Stanford. That was filled by Buddy (2002-2004) and Wlat (2005-2006) before we finally got Harbaugh. Harbaugh’s first two years were losing seasons, but the program was moving in an unmistakably positive direction.
