At the Worlds meet in Tokyo, Valarie Allman won gold in the discus throw, her first world title to go along with her two Olympic gold medals.

M 10,000, Grant Fisher 8th in a crowded finish after a tactical race. W 10,000, Elise Cranny was the top American, 12th place.

Udodi Onwuzurike runs 20.27 in the men's 200M - 15th overall in the heats - and advances to the semis. He was 2nd to Kenneth Bednarek (19.98, 4th overall in the heats) in his group. The broadcast crew did give a shout out for his time on the Farm during the intros.

Udodi Onwuzurike ran a 20.26 to place 7th in his 200M semi and did not advance.

Roisin Willis ran 2:00.24 to place 4th in her 800M heats group and also did not advance.

Hey - hats off to both, and any other Cardinal competing so far - this is the freakin' Worlds, after all.

Looking forward, Grant Fisher and Ky Robinson run in the 5000M heats later today (Tokyo)/tomorrow (WET & US).

Not sure if I've missed anyone else yet to compete - BobK, anyone....anyone?!?

Kai was a surging 4th in the 5,000, Fisher 8th.

Harrison Williams 7th in the decathlon. Very impressive (he was 7th at the Paris Olympics and 7th in 2023 at Worlds in Budapest).

This article is about Stanford's Valarie Allman.  Thought it best to post under the current track and field in lieu of starting a new tread.

Allman, a seven-time all American who went to Stanford, only started throwing discus at age 15.
