I am delighted by how the game is going, but let's not forget that Wake's best player, a big (Cowels) went out with an eye-poke after 5 minutes and has not returned. Defending her was going to be a major challenge. Wake Forest has not folded, nor were they particularly good while Cowels was on the floor, but not having her has no doubt limited their ability to mount a come back.

In fact, 4 turnovers in the last 3:29. And Stanford hasn't scored in the last 3:29 either. That's a nice media timeout.

Well, Wake goes on a 7-0 run and while we are not choking, we are certainly coughing and sputtering. Time out by Kate and we need to get back on track. I have noticed that Tess Heal has not taken a shot in a long time. Let's figure out how to get it into Agara down low.

So essentially the refs blew that call so badly they can’t fix it.

Our first road win of the year, 74-71. A lot that we could have done better, but a win is a win and a road win is even better. The announcers seemed reasonable. I agree with them that Stanford is a team that is good and getting better--a young team that is still learning. Tonight, a fabulous game early from Tess Heal and late from Nunu Agara. Demetre and Bosgana receded somewhat.
Wake made the game close because Conley hit six treys off the bench. Whatever we were doing to guard her was not working. And they did very well even after losing their best BIG to an eye poke.
A win on the road and in the conference was just what we needed. It gets very hard when we go to Duke on Sunday. But let's celebrate a victory tonight.

Well, we came close. but we managed to hold on.
Anyway, given it's our first road win, we'll take it.

I've aged at least a year in the 4th quarter.

Was it me or did we pass up at least two timeouts w less than a minute to go, which would have ended the drama faster?

I could be wrong, but I thought we called the right TO's. Maybe Brooke should have called TO instead of making a bad pass.

If the game had lasted one minute longer, I’m confident we would have pulled out a loss.

Every end of game situation seems to involve Brooke inbounding the ball or in a spot where she needs to make a good pass to a teammate and she just can’t seem to do it. Her decision making is a step slow. LSU she was the inbounder, FSU which we almost blew at the end and tonight. Can the coaches have anyone else inbound the ball?! How about a guard.
Happy for the team though to get a road win. Props to Tess and Nunu for great games.
