I think Reich plays things close to the chest, so even if he had plans, he wouldn't reveal anything. I could see Brown coming in to run several planned packages.

IMO this is the most probable scenario. I also wouldn't be surprised that if one of the QBs gets "hot", we won't see the other QB for at least the rest of the game. If BG looks "good" we won't see Brown IMO. That would be a nice problem to have.

I can understand--but not agree with--the argument that Reich shouldn't start Brown on Saturday because the game is on the road versus a vastly superior BYU team. Better to give BG a bye week and one more chance to show improvement and, if necessary, start Brown for a winnable home game vs. Boston College, a team that was picked to finish 13th in the ACC this year.

My opinion, however, is that adversity is the best teacher, so let Brown show what he can/cannot do vs. BYU.

I'm not very optimistic about the team this year.  My preseason poll response was four wins....I now think our win total will be either zero, one, or two.  I'll miss one game we have a better chance to win (BC) but expect to be at the remaining home games (well unless it gets really ugly).  I'll be there mostly to see people at our tailgater and would not be surprised to spend several second halves at the tailgaters instead of the games.

And I have lost any enthusiasm for the "predict the score" game as picking us to lose is just to depressing and picking us to win seems so unlikely so why bother....

AGREE, Sadly -- until Reich & Co show us something.

Wow I’m going to go on a limb and say we win Saturday. I’m feeling positive and optimistic.

I think we control the ball with the run game. Give Bear some new looks to throw him off and we win this one at the wire with a last minute field goal.

I was much happier with the Hawaii game than a lot of others and I think we build on the strengths we saw there and escape Provo with a W.

Stanford 33
BYU 31

I hope you are correct.  The only reason I can see for any optomism is that BG will revert to the form he had wne he lead OSU to a winning record.  That GB was not the GB that showed up in Hawaii.  If GB starts and looks as he did last week and we do not immediately replace him with Brown I will have to questiion the sanity of Reich and Luck.

If tonight's game is a borefest, I intend to toggle over to Svengoolie on MeTV--"The Creature Walks Among Us", the third in the trilogy about the "Gill Man" from the Black Lagoon.  Don't believe I've ever seen it.

Stanford's O makes watching paint dry seem thrilling!

Makes me sad to have "won" this week, as I was truly rooting against myself.  SMH

FEAR THE TREE!

RE: 2025 Stanford at BYU Predictions Thread - qwerty49 - 09-07-2025

What is sad is that the most suspense last night was if the score would match my prediction. At one point early in the 4Q each team needed a TD and BYU was on our 1 yd line. It looked like they scored, but the spot came up inches short, and they settled for a FG.

Oh well, on to next week!
