I guess I wasn't clear enough with my post. I thought it a bad look for forum members calling KWJ stupid and not worthy of listening to, etc. etc. etc., and was trying to call out the hypocrisy that the Paulson Adebo was spared their wrath and was curious as to why?
So, I'm curious, now that a rationale has been shared why one could be more critical of KWJ than PA, do you still feel like the lack of a "Crucify PA" thread showed hypocrisy by the Cardboard faithful?
If you do think that KWJ and PA posts are equally deserving of derision, what do you think is the motivation for the KWJ thread and not one on PA? Misogyny? "Reverse racism"? Fear of upsetting an athlete currently representing Stanford?

Ah yes...science.

Science: Science is the pursuit and application of knowledge and understanding of the natural and social world following a systematic methodology based on evidence.
https://sciencecouncil.org/about-science/our-definition-of-science/
Somebody mentioned zigging and zagging, which, in my opinion, is what happens when politics inevitably get involved. But, according to the neuroscientists with whom I work, the systematic methodology part is oftentimes contentious, especially if folks get too set in their assumptions.
Having said that, I much prefer science--with its inevitable reformulations of conclusions as more data are collected and the facts are honed by convergent evidence--to politics when it comes to solving a public health crisis. And this coming from a guy with doctorate in music.

Very strange. I searched Twitter again for a similar post and found this one.

Don't necessarily agree with your premise why one is more worthy of derision than the other. KWJ's posts were, by her own admission, filled with her feelings and emotions. Tough to criticize someone for their feelings, imho, whatever they are. PA's posts were what he believes to be true.
Anyway, I don't have an answer or an opinion as to why. I was curious as what others thought about the seemingly contradictory reactions. Misogyny? "Reverse racism"? Fear of upsetting an athlete currently representing Stanford? Wealth? Fame? Experience? Verbose vs Succinct? Sand vs Grass? Bikinis vs Pads?

Kerri Walsh Jennings is far better known than Adebo. She's the world's best known athlete in her sport. What she says is newsworthy because of her international prominence.

With respect Terry I don't believe she should use her fame to push this agenda unless she has experience in the infectious medicine field or a degree in same. I don't know what her studies at Stanford entailed. As for Adebo I don't think there are more than a few people in the world who know he exists. And if any individuals base their mask wearing plans on his words then they are fools.

Oh, I agree. I'm not saying people should believe Jennings' statements or follow Jennings' example. I'm just saying that Jennings' statements got more attention than Adebo's because Jennings is far more famous than Adebo.

With respect, this is about as much ado about nothing as any thread I've seen around her. 50 posts to debate which of two alums is not getting an appropriate amount of scorn from a bunch of fans? I know we've all got too much time on our hands going stir crazy in a pandemic, but this thread is approaching the shelf life of a can of SPAM.

An infinite thread?

Easy. Ignore the thread. Carry on. I would love a thread comparing modern bridge bidding with old bridge but you wouldn’t have to read it. I respect posts about minor sports but I don’t read them.
Plus if you haven’t tried sandwiches of Spam, tuna, cut up dills and pickle relish with ketchup don’t knock them.

Personally, I prefer simply Span and ketchup sandwiches OR tuna and pickle relish sandwiches.

The best was white bread doused with sugar such that only the crust is visible. Then the sugar is doused with ketchup. Eaten open face.
