Thx on Belibi. Seems like instead of whining maybe Barnes should focus on teaching defense without fouls?

That was an offensive foul by Loville.  After she elbowed Fran in the head she stuck her chest out and stopped her feat like she had done something great.  That's probably why they video reviewed the play.  Dirty play.

Still, I'd rather be us.  We lead by 16 with :38 to play in the 3rd.

Before this game, Stanford was shooting 73% from the free throw line, which is pretty good.

So they are too physical on both ends of floor. Ridiculous.

Fran back in!

20 point lead with under 3 to play.  Nice.

Refs called it an intentional foul (similar to a flagrant 1 under the men's rules) after review.

Good lead, but, as of a moment ago, we have 12 assists and 15 turnovers? NOT GOOD. Brink 3 for 15 FGAs?

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Arizona 11:30 am Monday - BostonCard - 01-02-2023

Belibi and Jones both have double-doubles.

Cats get their turnovers.  We knew that going in.  Tara figured out how we could dominate them anyway.

73-57 final.

I'm thinking long term, when we will be playing teams with even tougher, more pressing Ds, not just South Carolina. Our primary PG had 6 TOs by herself (although she vacuumed up an impressive 16 reebs).

RE: WBB: Stanford vs. Arizona 11:30 am Monday - martyup - 01-02-2023

Best win of the season.  Cats were 12-1 and ranked #15. They have been touted as having the best defense in the country.

Dominated even with 5 of 25 3pt shooting! and poor free throw shooting

I don’t remember Talana Lepolo committing 6 turnovers today.

He’s referring to Haley Jones.

Impressive play by Brink over the last 5 games:

vs. Creighton 12/203021416
vs. Cal 12/23173115
vs. ASU 12/312911714
vs. AZ 1/1260126

season avg (prior to AZ)21.2 min/game2.2 fouls/game13.3 pts/game9.1 rbs/game

You can clearly see that Cam is managing to stay in the game longer in recent games and subsequently having a bigger impact on the court.

Oh I know, I just disagree with the premise that Jones is our primary PG. Although, I could be less snarky about that—my apologies.

I, too, gave up the Pac-12/XFinity package after last year as I switch over to YouTube TV; but I have noticed that just about every Stanford game this year has been uploaded to YouTube within a few days, if there's a particular game you wish to rewatch!
