How could a team get SO much worse since the beginning of the year?
Easy. Opponents get a book on them, players get hurt, no depth.
Now it’s Taylor’s fault? I don’t give a damn if you have new Bill Walsh/Bill Belichick/and every other great football coach heading up this team. You need talent. They lack it. They have for quite a while. And they’re going to continue for quite a while unless they decide to play ball with the big boys.
Agree to a point. Not seeing a lot of enthusiasm in the play today. Well, until that last stop.

Sometimes, desperate times call for taking full advantage of <all> the benefits living in the GMT zone have to offer - ALL of them....
OK let's punch this in, Cardinal....

Called Baklenko for the missed block for the fumble, when it was McGlaughlin. Called Aaron Morris for the coverage on that pass inside the 5, when it was Nicholson. Displayed entirely wrong stats for Ashton Daniels last week (14 for 31??)
It's nice to channel my negative energy into something other than our team's performance....
Can't decide whether the referees or the announcers are worse. Both are pretty awful...

Noting #29 freshman DB Darius Davis playing instead of #28 Cam Richardson. Coaches probably figured that everyone has Richardson's number by now. Expect the Wolfpack to test him if Wright doesn't make it back.

EUTM. Not seeing it at all, and that starts with the coaching staff and the culture they instill.

In a match-up of two bottom of the barrel teams, ya gotta expect bottom of the barrel announcers and bottom of the barrel referees.

Option play to the short side of the field on 3rd and 11?!?! That’s our “offensive guru”?

martyup - 11-02-2024
Still not one offensive holding call. I've never seen such blatant holding not being called.
I'd like to see Bailey truck Bailey.

To think that I picked the Cardinal to upset NC State today is IGNOMINIOUS! 31-14 at the half. Has our D even been sighted on the playing field? It doesn't look like it.

These announcers are such NCST homers.

We're going to end the half with one remaining timeout, too. Yay.

But I think you still can’t drink enough to be able to watch these guys.

Didn't whistle the face-mask, either.
Perhaps the refs have a plane to catch? This has to be the fastest Stanford game (so far) this season.

On the flight back from Raleigh, we should make a stop-over in Bloomington, pay Curt Cignetti's office an impromptu visit and see if he has any interest, because we have firmly entered the realm of

So, NCST scores on every possession, and we are still playing zone because it would be worse if we played man?
Their QB, a true Frosh who was a backup recently, is shredding our defense? On offense we are almost ok, but the defense has been atrocious.
RE: FB -- NC State Game Thread -
JohnR34231 - 11-02-2024
Yep, we are on our way to five blowouts in the last six games.
To say this team is no fun to watch would be an understatement
Our defense has absolutely no answer for their offense.
Our offense was basically two big plays by Daniels.
P, S. Kal almost beat these guys? I know comparative scores don't mean too much, but........

Not to mention the limitations on getting players through the portal.
That is the new world. A good friend of mine son is a college basketball coach. Assistant at a D1 school. Turnover is just the way it is. You have no choice you deal with the portal or you die.
+1
Muir and TT shouldn't be given a pass. The reality of the new world of CFB was obvious when TT was hired two years ago. It's been obvious for over four years now. TT specifically said he could rebuild this team by recruiting, developing, and retaining high school players with a culture of "love" and great coaching (specifically, quarterback whispering and innovative offensive schemes). Muir selected TT for these reasons and they both said the rebuild could be done our special way, without any significant reliance on the portal. Now TT is singing a completely different tune because he doesn't have any other explanations for the team's total lack of progress.
It's slightly early to say (as in, about one month too early), but all signs indicate that they were both wrong in a very damaging way. They sowed false hope, allowing the institution to continue its indecision and inaction on the matter. Bring the matter to a head. Bring in an AD and a coach who are suited to the new world, or bring in another coach to try pursuing TT's original theory, if you must. Or just give up and be transparent about it so we can go do other things with our Saturdays.
Also, I can't think of any other field where the two highest-paid executives, making millions, wouldn't be booted after all of this. They don't need our sympathy - the criticism and the expectation of results come with the territory. These are not the dutiful equipment managers doing their best and living on peanuts.

I once thought that the Pac-12 refs were the worst. I'd like to see a transcript of that explanation of the penalties on the second half kickoff.
Daniels does it again!!! 48 yards to the house!!
We really needed that one.
If we can get Elic involved in this game and our D can make some stops, we could pull out a win.
