Seven years later Serafini was the #26 overall pick and signed for $375k, while the biggest bonus that draft went to Stanford's Jeffrey Hammonds ($975k).

We all know that ERAs are tied to pitchers.  Earned Run Averages also get tied to catchers.  Last year, catchers Will Smith (LAD) was #2 (3.12), Omar Narvaez (MIL) was #3 (3.31) and Kyle Higashioka (NYY) were #4 (3.38).

Who was #1 and who was #5?  Their ERAs were 2.72 and 3.57 respectively.

Close.  Nate Thurmond.  10/18/74, Nate had 22 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists and 12 blocks.

In all of NBA history, there's only been four quadruple-doubles, three by players standing 6-foot-11 or taller (the other was Alvin Robertson in 1986), and all between 1974 and 1994.  The others were Hakeem Olajuwon (1990) and David Robinson (1994).

I just found out that the reason the quadruple doubles started in 1974 is because blocks and steals weren't officially a recorded statistic until that season.

Along those lines, supposedly Wilt Chamberlain had 53 points, 34 rebounds, and 14 assists (all documented) and 24 blocks and 11 steals (undocumented).  Wouldn't surprise me that it actually happened.

Open Court - On March 18, 1968 Wilt Chamberlain allegedly dropped an unofficial (blocks and steals weren't recorded until the 1973–74 season) quintuple double with 53 points, 32 rebounds, 14 assists, 24 blocks, and 11 steals.
