Yes. Not the #8 seed. Any team in the Nebraska regional will not get to the final four. This match with SMU I'm going to forget about and look forward to beating up on Cal Wednesday and Sunday.

Zero chance of being a #1 regional seed.
I wonder if there will be any ACC #1 seeds. Right now it is looking like Nebraska and 3 SEC teams (Kentucky, Texas, and Texas A&M), and possibly three ACC #2 seeds (Pitt, Louisville, Stanford). The match at Louisville to end the season looms large.

Stanford currently at NCAA (unofficial) RPI #7 and tie with SMU after this match. Unofficial is extremely close to official except it's updated constantly and official is updated once a week.

Louisville at #9 with .6916%. Good chance one of these three teams ends up #8 or #9.

Correct. But winning is usually more fun than losing for fans and the team.
And Stanford has to play conference foe Cal. OTOH Wisconsin scheduled #343 Chicago State in non-conference. At the time they said it was to grow the sport.

It's disappointing to have had a favorable schedule this season, facing all of the other top ACC teams at home (Louisville, Pitt, SMU) and losing to 2 of them.
Stanford still has a chance to share the ACC title. But it will likely require winning at Louisville, a tall order.

Louisville is playing at Pitt on the 26th. Assuming that there are no other upsets…
If Pitt beats Louisville then we can get a tie for first with Pitt (and own the head-to-head) by winning at Louisville.
If Louisville beats Pitt, we can with the ACC outright with a win over Louisville.
Both scenarios require us to win at Louisville, where we were swept last year, and to whom we lost at home this year. As mentioned, a tall order.

Elsewhere, Pitt dropped their first set at Cal, but then won easily 3-1.
Texas (at home) dropped a set to South Carolina.
Louisville (at home) went five with Miami (reverse sweep).

Big game against Cal on Wednesday. Will Logan Parks be dressed to play? My guess is no; she'll be out for two weeks, possibly through the NCAA tournament.

That's good but there was a quite a difficult journey with Hodson claiming a concussion was not taken seriously. A trainer (or a doctor who is not a concussion specialist) giving a player two minutes of evaluation is not adequate to know if something in the brain was thrown off kilter.

Let’s just say that concussion protocols are unpredictable and that the timing of return to activities is highly variable. Given the NCAA’s concussion protocols, which has 6 steps before unrestricted return to sport, each of which happens at an interval of 24 hours, it is very unlikely that anyone in the concussion protocol would be participating in competition within a week.
So, almost certainly out for Big Game Wednesday (unless the diagnosis was overturned), very likely out for away game at Cal on Sunday (technically, this would be the earliest she could be back if she proceeds through the protocol without any issues whatsoever). Conceivably back for Georgia Tech or Louisville, but given the variable nature of recovery, very possible that her recovery will be longer, and, in fact, could leave her out for the rest of the year.

I heard the fifth set live on the car radio while driving on Friday night and the replay is wonderfully goose-bumpy for sure. The last few minutes are unbridled youthful enthusiasm as the two LSJU undergrad announcers go berserk, yelling and screaming in sheer joy at each LSJU point during the second 3-point streak to tie it at 14 and then to win the match.

Hillarious moment at the 39 minute mark, when Rubin’s kill off the block looked to be long. The male anouncer sounds audibly deflated at the initial call by the line judge sighing “awww”. The female announcer notes the call on the block and says “she got the touch” and then the male announcer admonishes Pitt for celebrating too early.

Quite a lot of controversy on another message board. Top ten 2027 prospect who had committed to a B1G school visited Stanford for a recent match with her parents and now has removed the B1G school from her Instagram bio. Stay tuned.

Regardless, nothing is for certain until a recruit signs on the dotted line, and the early signing period for 2027s is not for another year.
