Stats?
Burrow: 22-33 for 263 (75 on the face mask PI), 1 TD, 0 Ints, 39.7 QBR, 101 rating, 7 sacks
Garappolo: 23-32 for 316, 1 TD, 2 Ints (one on the last gasp play), 49.0 QBP, 87 rating, 3 sacks
Those Garoppolo stats are from Week 18.
NFCCG: 16/30 232 7.7 YPA 2TD 1 INT 0 sacks 87.1 QBR
At least the Niners didn't lose because the refs gifted the game to Rams. They lost because they couldn't run the ball well enough and dropped a room service interception. Garoppolo could have been more productive, but that's not why they lost.

That's what I get for trusting Google's search. . . .thanks.
Still, the last plays were pretty similar.

It was a plainly obvious penalty. Both a face-masking penalty and an offensive interference penalty. The Bengals' WR didn't just "disorient" the DB; rather, he grabbed his face-mask, jerked his head around, and sent him sprawling into the ground. Not a close call. It was a 75-yard, 7-point gift from the officials.
BTW I was rooting for the Bengals.

From my perspective, the OPI was obvious and should have been called. The refs just missed it. I think the defensive holding was much more questionable. It was a defensible call, but given that the refs had been letting a lot go, it was a bit puzzling that all of a sudden they threw a flag on three consecutive plays, none of which were blatant. I think for a defender, it can be tough if the refs are letting a lot go, and then all of a sudden start blowing the whistle. In the end, I don’t think the refs advantages one team or the other, but it was qualitatively awful.

What are your thoughts on Ramsey holding the undershirt of WR on 3rd down on Goal Line and that not being called a hold? The play to which you refer above was no more a penalty than what Ramsey did that wasn't penalized.

yes, i immediately thought that - not just the similar context but also the same backhanded flip into the air hoping against hope that a receiver might grab it. yes, i also felt much better about jimmy's interception seeing burrow do the same thing in the same situation.
thinking about it, which is worse, taking a sack and knowing you will lose the game, or throwing a duck with a 5% chance of completion (granted jimmy g would have had 1 more down vs burrow no more downs).

Niners lost to Rams cause they couldn’t run. Got beat at LOS on offense and couldn’t get off field on defense.
Bengals lost cause their offensive line got thrashed. And they couldn’t get off field when it counted.
Some similarities. QB isn’t one of them. No matter how you play with stats.

The Bengals. Troy Walters and Michael Thomas were two of my favorites. And I only root for LA teams unless they are playing a team I hate even more.
Did you notice Michael Thomas playing upback on the Bengals' punts? Fun fact - I saw him make a tackle from that position yesterday, which seems pretty difficult with all the guys in the way. (Of course, I was watching the upback on every Bengals punt!)
I met Thomas once at a Best Buy - very nice dude. He took a picture with my son who was only 4 then but now is almost 14. Thomas was already in the NFL at that time - that's how long he's stuck around! He's lasted longer than nearly all of the other very talented guys from those great Stanford teams.
He wasn't picked up by the Bengals until mid-season. We may have witnessed Thomas' last football game yesterday - if so, going out in a Super Bowl, even in defeat, isn't such a bad way to go.
