RE: FOOTBALL: UCLA GAME THREAD - ADPinWDC - 10-29-2022

More Cowbell (throw to the TEs) breaks the drought.  TD!   Play stands.
With 4min to play... 38-13.  So within 4 TDs now.  Or 9 FGs!

RE: FOOTBALL: UCLA GAME THREAD - thunder_chik - 10-29-2022

Finally, a TD!

RE: FOOTBALL: UCLA GAME THREAD - MV72018 - 10-29-2022

Nice grab by Ben and, for a change, a pretty decent and deceptive play call. Finally a TD.

Definitely need to go for small victories in this one.

RE: FOOTBALL: UCLA GAME THREAD - winflop - 10-29-2022

Mercifully it's finally over. We got housed.

The only question left is whether we finish 3-9 or 4-8

RE: FOOTBALL: UCLA GAME THREAD - chrisk - 10-29-2022

DTR looks like a shrimp standing next to McKee.

RE: FOOTBALL: UCLA GAME THREAD - MV72018 - 10-29-2022

It really BUGS me that rather than letting Patu or Daniels have the experience of trying to punch it in under time pressure, Shaw has him quit with 35 seconds to go at about the 20 yard line.

DISGUSTING@!!@!

Agreed.  But it is typical of Shaw.  Foot off the gas even when we are losing.

Yeah, I thought that was a little strange, too.
Game turned out as expected, although we were obviously hoping it wouldn't.

Come on, where's the faith? Bowling is still very much alive! Things are looking up. We've won two of the last three. Our D held UCLA under 40. And we scored a TD breaking Karty's 31 point streak.

RE: FOOTBALL: UCLA GAME THREAD - Phogge - 10-29-2022

Not as close as the score.

RE: FOOTBALL: UCLA GAME THREAD - chrisk - 10-29-2022

Daniels led Stanford rushers with 51 yards (10.2 per carry).

38-13 just ain't that close.

Ah, irony... maybe.

Likewise.  Shaw could have given his backup qb two minute experience without pressure.  I'm convinced Shaw did this to prevent another UCLA score, as if it made a difference.

Do we think this mercifully ends the slo mesh?. Count tonight's announcers among those who don't think it fits. At this point I'd just like to see McKee have a chance to throw down field. He's put up with enuf.

I'd just like to see McKee survive the remainder of the season. SURVIVE, literally.
