Depending on how literally you take recruiting rankings, it's one of the best gets of the Taylor era.
Vanderbilt and Northwestern both offered, so i'm not worried about admissions.
We had multiple admissions casualties last year who had offers from Vandy, Northwestern, and Duke.
yikes.
i take it back.
That really, really concerns me... Vandy's overall acceptance rate is 6.7%, Northwestern's is 7.2%, Duke's is 5.1%.

My guess is that those three let down their academic standards more than we do to let in recruited athletes.

I have some knowledge of NOrthwestern, and I do believe that they "stretch" admissions further than we do

Correct

Correct
ALL THIS SAID, Hall is a good student in a good school district. My point is that offers from other academic schools should not be a barometer.

Josh Petty to announce today.
After Florida State was considered the leader for a long time, the pundits now say it is going to be Georgia Tech.
Oh well, at least we made his top five.
Yep, that's where he committed. Wonder what GT did to snatch him away from the 'Noles? NIL, something else, or a combo.

You don't recognize it because NIL and the transfer portal have RUINED college sports...damn shame.

I also hate the way college sports have become professionalized with salaries.
In this case, at least he's going directly for the money (at his age, I probably would have done the same). This is better than having come to Stanford to later on transfer to chase the cash.

Completely agree. Now the expression "the best team money can buy" pertains in spades to major college sports, and perhaps some minor ones too. PATHETIC. Maybe schools will start recruiting people who are effective NIL fundraisers to be able to buy top line athletes. Makes at least as much sense as the current system. Take it a step farther: how about schools giving their most distinguished alum awards to people who donate the most money to their NIL piggy banks for use in paying mercenaries to come to their schools for at least a year. Sickening.

Only "good for him" in the most narrow, individualistic, strictly financial sense -- "I'd better get mine while I can, before the whole stinkin house of cards collapses" -- and rotten for college sports. What's happening with college sports reminds me more than a little of what Saudi Arabia is doing with golf and soccer -- buying off the stars with big bucks -- and, I predict, other sports soon to come.

Good for him in the sense that he is attending an excellent academic school and getting a lot of money to do it. He probably won't be playing in any championship games, but if they are willing to shell out that kind of money for top players who knows what the future may bring.

We are still in the running for 5-star tackle Andrew Babalola, who keeps pushing back his commitment date. Now he says it will be by the time his HS season ends. He has a top 5 that includes Stanford and most of the pundits think it will be Stanford or Michigan.

Checked up to see how Stanford QB recruit Bear Bachmeier is doing this year. Apparently he hasn't been playing, presumably due to an injury. Anybody know anything about it?

Hurt his knee, apparently did not tear his ACL and will not need surgery. Let us hope that report is correct.

I think it came down to Stanford and Michigan, and our unimpressive performance so far this year tipped the scales for the Wolverines.

Yes, but I think it is a decent guess.
The pundits have been saying that Michigan and Stanford are his favorites among his final five.
He said he was going to wait until the end of his season to announce.
Stanford gets their butts kicked in four straight games.
He proceeds to announce for Michigan.
How would you interpret that?
