Jalen Hurts in concussion protocol and 2nd QB Kenny Pickett has rib injury.
After McKee as 3rd, Eagles just signed Ian Book as 4th QB.

McKee has done pretty well so far when given a chance. The problem is that McKee can't run the same offense Hurts does. McKee can't run the ball, while that is a major part of Hurts' game. That is why the Eagles went and got Pickett. He can run the same offense Hurts does, though not as well. In 2023 McKee arguably outplayed Mariota, but the Eagles kept Mariota because he could also run the same offense. McKee has done "well", but he is unfortunately in the wrong system.

He looked pretty happy. He actually threw 4 (one barely over the sideline in the end zone) good passes.

Rams started out 1-4. Since then, they have gone 9-2. Going into their last game, Karty has 106 points. He's 25/30 on FGAs, and 31/35 XPAs. He's done pretty well, I think.

Meantime, Zach Ertz caught 2 more TDs last night, including the walk off TD in overtime! His first multi-TD game since 2021. He is now tied for 13th all time in NFL history for TDs by a tight end! The only active NFL tight end with more career TDs is Travis Kelce.

Saquon Barkley may play in order to break the rushing record. If he does, McKee might end up looking pretty good. If Barkley doesn't, and it becomes clearly a "don't get hurt game", it could be ugly for McKee.

In week 18, Ertz caught yet another TD, his 7th of the season (second best TD total in his career)!
Karty kicked 4 FG, incl a 57 yarder and 58 yarder. On to the playoffs for him and Ertz.
But I bury the lede - Tanner McKee started and played great for the victorious Eagles. 27 of 41, 269 yards and 2 TDs. Who knows, he might end up playing in wild card weekend too. The local Philly media gushing about his performance, e.g.,
"McKee is the only quarterback in NFL history drafted in the sixth round or later with four touchdown passes and no interceptions through his first two career games. He’s only the second quarterback in NFL history drafted in the sixth round or later to throw for 250 yards with two or more TDs and no INTs in his NFL debut."

Ertz with yet another TD for amazing Commanders in upset of Detroit. That's 8 TDs this season, tying his career high. At age 34!
Justin Reid 7 tackles incl. 5 solo for unbeatable (?) Chiefs. Dalton Schultz with 4 catches, 63 yds for Texans (second highest yardage all season).

Jayden Daniels is a pretty special talent, and maybe I put too much on Tavita for not being able to coach up all the less-than-stellar QB play we've seen over the last decade. Glad he's showing up and showing out right now. What a turnaround for that franchise.

No McKee sighting for the Eagles. But Jalen Hurts is hurting, can barely walk let alone run. Could McKee end up playing in the NFL title game?

If the Eagles get past Washington, and Hurts gets hurt more, than I can see McKee starting the Superbowl.

This article about Zach Ertz could be behind the paywall. Here is the only Stanford reference, the timeline is with respect to Ertz recovering from a knee injury while playing in Arizona
Ertz went back to training with Shannon Turley, his strength and conditioning coach from his years at Stanford. The two worked together for nearly five months before Ertz signed in Washington and then continued their sessions in the offseason.
“Just to be able to have that training again at my age, it was awesome to be able to just grind and get explosive again, feel fast again,” Ertz said. “So I just wanted the opportunity to come out here and prove that I am still the same guy and that's been awesome.”

SEparately, I haven't seen any references to Ertz's t-rex arms, which IIRC caused so much consternation at the draft combine.
