The 3rd quarter was the worst all season and the 4th quarter just might have been the best.

Well I have no idea what Miami was doing on that last possession. Apparently, they didn’t either.

On to OT.

One note: 70 is the magic number on defense in regulation - right on that line in this one; so I guess OT is fitting.

I guess we can't complain about the refs on that one.
I think refs are reluctant to call fouls late that basically give one team the game.

Yeah I thought maybe we had the momentum going into overtime, but I guess not.
With 20-20 hindsight, maybe we should have tried to chuck up a three and win in regulation.

Nice defensive run at the end to get it to OT, but it’s more frustrating than hope inducing. And of course the defense collapsed in OT. Where was that q4 defensive stretch all game or the last 10-12 games of the season?

This for me is the season in a nutshell. The offense never got better and ranged from meh to terrible. 70 in regulation was about the ceiling against a decent team. The only positive was turnovers got better as the season went on, but a big drop in offensive rebounding cancelled that improvement out.

The big change in season was the drop in defense. Early in the year they were giving up 60s or less most games. When the losing streak kicked in that became 70s or 80s most games, and as noted 70+ in regulation was a guaranteed loss. Not sure why we had the drop in defense, but it killed the season.

Nothing to debate now on the NCAAs - the loss today guarantees we are out. We were in fact the 13th best team in the ACC even when mostly healthy, and there isn’t any sugar coating it.

I don’t think Paye gets fired this quickly, but I do think next year is and should be make or break for the staff.

Some moments of better basketball the past week and in this game but still disappointing considering the stakes of this game and how much winning 1 or 2 games mattered. Yes it’s pressure but also a tremendous opportunity squandered.

Let’s the exodus of key plus to the transfer portal begin.

Big thing now is seeing if any of the freshman class transfers out. NuNu says she's coming back so that's good. Would like to see Clardy, Ogden, and Ijiwoye back too. Basically, the same team a year older. Perhaps get an impact transfer to come in.

In other news, as someone else may have posted, Agara was named 2nd team All ACC yesterday. Her reward was trying to guard Miami's 6'6" post today, and the wear and tear of that assignment led to Agara missing some layups and committing 4 turnovers.

Well, I guess that does that then. And we've got to sit and wait a good dozen days until the actual tournament fields are announced too. So now what happens? Do we go through with the WBIT berth and try to improve on last year's one-round showing, or do we give in to our pride, and walk the season behind the barn?
