As an aside, how is it that the Angels have Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, and still kind of suck? Angels are 34-38 despite having two generational players.
BC
They also have Taylor Ward who's pretty good (.822 OPS) and Jared Walsh (.798 OPS). None of the remaining starters move the needle, at all. Still, they're 6th in OPS and 5th in runs scored of the 15 AL teams. Their ERA is exactly league average at 3.85. And their Rtot fielding score is slightly above league average. So...I have no idea why their record is 34-38. Their Pythagorean W-L is 37-35. They're still really popular with the 2nd highest attendance in the AL.

Here you go BC, wild guesses.
Jim Gentile
Hank Greenberg
Dave Kingman
Joe Adcock
Which of the four above sluggers was a pitcher/first baseman and the POY his senior year in high school.

None of Phogge guesses are right, but it is a pretty random stat. Some years to help you guys out.
1932
1961
1970
2003
Plus of course Ohtani this year.
BC
By the way, the very next day (yesterday) Ohtani threw eight innings of two-hit ball giving up no runs and striking out 13. Somehow the Angels won.

His high school was closed down because of the adverse publicity he created. All records were destroyed in a fire. The school district went bankrupt and was amalgamated into another district. The district records were lost in a category 4 tornado. The superintendent ran off with the baseball coach. During the state championship there was a plague of locusts. On graduation day It rained six inches and there were five minutes of rain mixed with frogs falling from the sky. A satellite fell on the mound. Cats and dogs were seen to frolic together. Many children were hospitalized after drinking tainted root beer. The prom queen was arrested for indecent exposure at the local mall.
No records survive of the All league team.

Lee Roy Jordan or Jack Ham.
How about most career NFL interceptions by a defensive lineman?
RE: Sports trivia thread 2022 -

Neither Jordan or Ham. Way before your time.
D Lineman... Doug Atkins? Ed Sprinkle?

Wrong. But darn it, I knew that answer. Here’s a hint. His son played safety at UCLA. I think he blocked a punt or FG vs Stanford.
