RE: Stanford vs. Ole Miss Sunday 6:30 - Leftcoast - 03-19-2023

47-49, it’s a 2 pt game!  It’s there for us to take now.  (2 mins to go)

RE: Stanford vs. Ole Miss Sunday 6:30 - mbdude - 03-19-2023

Brink got clobbered on that last attempted rebound

Great inbounds play, not

RE: Stanford vs. Ole Miss Sunday 6:30 - TheFarm07 - 03-19-2023

Why did we inbound it into the corner?

RE: Stanford vs. Ole Miss Sunday 6:30 - MV72018 - 03-19-2023

Impressive comeback!

RE: Stanford vs. Ole Miss Sunday 6:30 - mbdude - 03-19-2023

Who draws up our inbounds plays

And that is the best we can do when we absolutely have to get the ball inbounds to someone?

RE: Stanford vs. Ole Miss Sunday 6:30 - Card10Fan - 03-19-2023

Pass was supposed to go into Brink but Jones didn’t throw it. Instead Jump turns it over and Jones fouls. Then Jones turns it over our next O possession. Seniors in big moments. Not gonna get it done.

8 fgs in 2nd half isn't exactly impressive

RE: Stanford vs. Ole Miss Sunday 6:30 - petersalas - 03-19-2023

This is a joke, right?

However this turns out I don't want to hear Tara's reasons or excuses for this performance in presser

We can be topic of conversation for another epic out

RE: Stanford vs. Ole Miss Sunday 6:30 - MV72018 - 03-19-2023

It's all over.

Ignominious defeat.

Wait, a fellow alum who also doesn't think Tara is a good coach?? I practically got run off the board for my comments to that effect last year. I think she's an A+ recruiter (though wonder how much that's just Stanford) and a C- coach. She's Haase with better talent, actually superior talent. I said last year and stand by that if Geno had been the Stanford coach during all these decades Stanford women would have 2-3x as many national championships as Tara has managed.

Tara was right that they would get schooled in defense by Ole Miss.
They needed to make some threes when they realized shooting around the basket wasn’t enough.

Lousy game plan, lousy coaching and poor play in critical times, this is what you get.  Some really good passing by us in this game.  Brink and Jones did what they could but the supporting cast played poorly and the coaches didn't coach much.

I wish I could say I’m surprised but we played this way all season.  We just weren’t that good of a team and our record showed it.

RE: Stanford vs. Ole Miss Sunday 6:30 - JohnR34231 - 03-19-2023

Can't say I'm shocked. We just haven't played that well as of late. And Ole Miss is a good team.

RE: Stanford vs. Ole Miss Sunday 6:30 - joemontes - 03-19-2023

Well, this loss is pretty representative of Stanford's season, marked by head-scratcher losses to unranked teams. I've been diappointed with this team and Tara's decision-making as a coach through PAC 12 conference play, so I'm not surprised and was ready for this loss.

RE: Stanford vs. Ole Miss Sunday 6:30 - Hoops9092 - 03-19-2023

Anyone else notice when Nivar lost the ball in the final 2-3 minutes and recollected to call the timeout, it took Tara 6 seconds to get out of her chair to motion timeout, which was too late. Wished we could've seen more coaching, more adjustments; it's not like we've never seen a highly athletic team before.

Sad this is how it ends, but thankful for this senior class.

RE: Stanford vs. Ole Miss Sunday 6:30 - cardfan1996 - 03-19-2023

The program needs a change of direction to maintain elite status.

I hope when Tara retires, we can bring in someone like Noelle Quinn or Becky Hammon.

In the UCLA game, Kate draws up a play for Haley but Lepolo’s defender was doubling Haley, and blew the play up.

Today, Kate draws up a play for Haley (when it should have been Brink) and Lepolo’s defender doubled Haley again, and blew up the play.

And that it how the season ends.

No one guards Lepolo all season long yet Kate keeps drawing up plays like Stanford is not playing 4 on 5 (defense). I can’t take anymore of Tara’s or Kate’s version of a “point guard” because it is Marta and Lepolo and our season inevitably ends before it should.

Terrible night and just too tight. Never seen so many bunnies missed. Yes Reffing terrible but not on them.
