For the season Haley shot 33% and averaged 3.7 pts per game. Imho pretty low bar for 1st team rookie in WNBA

she only played 13 min per game. looks a bit better on a 40 min basis: 10 points per game, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Alanna Smith’s hard work, determination pay off in big way for Sky - Chicago Sky (wnba.com)

now a free agent, see if she ends up back with the Sky

Ashten Prechtel was MVP of the New Zealand short season league. Prechtel posted averages of 19.4 PTS (5th), 15.0 REB (1st), 3.7 AST (7th), 2.7 BLK (1st) & 1.8 STL (4th) in 10 games ?. Missed the last 2 games due to foot injury. Now off to France

RE: WBB: Stanford WNBA - BACardinal - 09-24-2023

I was very surprised Lexie Hull didn't make an all defensive team.

London Lions are in the "play in qualifier" stage for Euro League.  If they make it, they will play the toughest teams in Europe. If not, they will play in the Euro Cup League, also tough competition.

Wow! Go Karlie!

RE: WBB: Stanford WNBA - M T - 11-18-2023

Even 20 shots in 24 minutes is impressive, but to hit so many!

A two-year contract! She's come a long way from recurring 7-day contracts!

Alanna Smith is headed to Minnesota.

Nneka is headed to...?

RE: WBB: Stanford WNBA - IM in OC - 04-10-2024

Congrats to Karlie Samuelson/Washington Mystics

Her London Lions team just won the Euro Cup Championship, 2 game aggregate points total of 149-145, over Besitakas of Turkey.

Samuelson was MVP of the finals with 19 points today.

Samuelson had a clutch steal in the last 15 seconds.

Thanks for the explanation. After the London Lions lost the first game, I thought it was all over, so was very confused. But this is awesome.

Absurdly low. Have to wonder about the stat line of the 2nd team rookie WNBAers.

RE: WBB: Stanford WNBA - here4WBB - 05-03-2024

Lexie started tonight with Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston. So great to see her!

For anyone following closer, what is her role?  Is she a defensive stopper?  She doesn't seem to fill up the stat sheet in any category.

RE: WBB: Stanford WNBA - Hurlburt88 - 05-04-2024

I also have this question, and was surprised given her hustle that she did not snag a rebound.  I need to tune in for a game!

RE: WBB: Stanford WNBA - WBB fan - 05-04-2024

Cam had a good first game tonight, started,- 11 points incl. a 3, 2 blocks, only 2 fouls, all in 22 minutes. Her +/- was +16.

RE: WBB: Stanford WNBA - PVTree - 05-05-2024

Nneka and Kiana were Cam's opponents tonight.

Karlie started for Washington, who blew a 9 point lead with less than 7 minutes to go and lost.

Yes, Lexie is making a name for herself as a defender. She has been on the Athletes Unlimited all defensive teams 2 years in a row. On the Fever, with Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell as guards and Boston and Nalissa Smith as bigs, there aren't many shots to go around or defensive rebounds to be grabbed. So she won't put up big numbers in the box score. However, when she's in the game, she is always defending the other team's best guard and sometimes their best forward. She is an incredible defender, always hustling with active hands just like at Stanford. However, much like the NBA, it's nearly impossible to stop some of the best WNBA guards 1x1. I find it very fun to watch and root for Lexie.
