Great game. Team played with resolve and pluck. Loved the rhythm of the offense and the opportunistic, scrappy defense. Loved the call on 4th and 2. No problem with the drop and loss. I'll chalk that up to being undermanned to start with and being without Ayomanor and Yurosek by game's end. Only thing I hated: the onside kick. Made no sense to me. Otherwise: best, most complete game of the season for me.

I was in the stadium and was very disappointed to see such a poor turnout for a game vs. a top ten team.
On our drive after the end zone interception, I don't know why Smith ran oob gaining only 8 yards. We need for him to plow ahead and get a first down, time was not yet a factor in that moment. We got stonewalled on the next 2 rushes and then the dropped pass (flashbacks of Caleb Bowman).
I was also baffled by the onside kick with almost 7 minutes to go. Defense was playing well, and we had all of our timeouts.
We were the beneficiary of many wr drops by the Husky receivers, but we made up for them with one drop.
I was disappointed by the result, but happy that we were at least competitive, which has been rare as of late.

Best home game since 2021 win over Oregon. 15 K in attendance? Most of whom stayed until at least the 59th minute.
Great offensive line pass blocking and some nice play calls, other than the onside kick. Hoping for the best on the injuries to 13 and 2. Either way, let’s run the table!

Announced crowd 24,381. UW fans bought a lot of sunny side tickets, which was a lot more full than the shady side. Very few students.

Win or lose, it has been a good performance.
It was a better than Good, it was at least Very Good. The team clearly has not quit on themselves or the coach. A few bonehead plays cost us the game, but it was close, oh so close and congrats to the Team and the Coaches for their effort.
22 needs to find a new home on the bench. One play the guy who sacks the Daniels runs right by him and he looks at him and moves on. What the **** was he thinking? Then he drops a catchable ball that would have kept us in the game, not a great pass, but a good player catches it.
We simply can't run the ball except at the goal line when we put Lamson in.
Our offensive line are not great blockers, but they improved their pass protection a bunch this game, at least giving Daniels a chance. We have no running back who make something out of nothing. As a result we seem to have given up trying to run the ball which unfortunately makes sense. If we lose Elic, things get even worse. He and Tiger have a lot of ability. Daniels continues to grow under adversity and pressure. A very good sign.
Hats off to all for a great effort!

Good game against the #5 team. Stanford made them look overrated. Just couldn't pull out the win.
The freshman Raines got to be the hero with one great pass catch, then the goat with the painful drop on 4th down. I imagine he got playing time because of Ayomanor's injury.
Raines is a junior.

Very good effort except for one thing...the onside kick.
First, it was too early.
Second, it was ADVERTISED.
Still, a lot of improvement noted.

Did they ever! Our section on the sunny side which is about 1/3 full at best had very few empty seats. We were now in a section with 2/3 Washington fans. Fortunately, they all were "well behaved" and there was no real "tension". That said, it isn't at all an encouraging look for attendance. The shady side was very empty. The lack of student attendance was actually shocking. The 4 PM start was actually pleasant, weather-wise. It was shirt-sleeve weather until the second half.
IMO the UCLA score discouraged people from attending. Most expected an even worse showing. That is not what happened, but you probably need to just like football to appreciate last night's game. Unfortunately it appears few do.

Have seen this comment (or variations thereof) a few times. I semi-disagree. Timing-wise, perfectly fine: it's totally plausible UW gets the ball and burns 4-5 minutes from the clock and leaves you with not much. Turnovers aside, the defense had not shown great aptitude in stopping the Huskies.
I do agree the formation/playcall was too obvious. But I think the onside was the correct decision. You've got to take risks when you're a heavy underdog.

So the kicker gave away the on side kick? Agreed. The fact that hands players like WRs were on the field didn’t? The Washington coaches wouldn’t catch that also ?
Great play calls by Taylor showing both confidence in his team super important moving on and going for the win against a much better team.
What a game

What an unfortunate drop on 4th down to end the drive and cost us the game. If he would have made that catch, would have been room to run. It was a great play call.
Tried to run before he caught it. Got to understand the situation. Only important thing was the catch. Tough break. Daniels was terrific tonight.
Really feel for that receiver. He's going to remember that drop for the rest of his life.
I've told this story here before, so my apologies for those who remember it:
Our son was a walk-on running back at Wyoming. Was a tackling dummy scout team player for three and a half years. He was a big bruiser back in an up tempo offense, so he was not highly valued, but he worked his way up to being basically a fourth stringer, who got no game action, in his redshirt junior (i.e., fourth year). In a surprise, he got into a mid-season game at Nevada and got a couple of carries.
The next week, they put him in as a counterpunch (i.e., unexpected) starter in a home game against Air Force. [Not announced as a starter, but he was in for Wyoming's first possession.] They run him off tackle on the second or third play, and he gains about eight or so yards and a first down, iirc . . . .
But . . . an Air Force defensive back tackles him at the ankles. He flips upside down and lands on his head and shoulders. And fumbles. Air Force gets the ball. A fairly understandable fumble, but he rides the pine for the rest of the game and, one figures, for the rest of his career. When you are the fourth string running back, you don't get to fumble.
Fast forward to several hours later. Wyoming has lost. [I think this was the "Howdy Doody"/Fly Boy game where the Wyoming coach went nuts during the post-game handshake with the Air Force coach. But that part is irrelevant to the story, other than the losing of the game.]
Our son is living in an apartment at the time, but he comes to our home after the game. In times like that, a guy needs to feel his mother's love. We tell him we are proud that he worked hard all those years and got into a game. There are, after all, mighty few football players who get to play in a D-I game. Even fewer who get to carry the ball. And he accomplished all that through grit and hard work.
He wasn't having it. He turns on the television, which has the game recorded. It is killing me to watch him do it, but he sits there in the dark, running that play over and over and over. I want to tell him that no matter how many times he does it, the result is not going to change. But there are times when Dad should just keep his mouth shut, so that is what I do.
It is not hard to imagine what he is thinking: All that work all those years, for this? He knows he will probably never get a chance again.
After you see your son go through that, you feel differently when a kid that plays for one of your teams makes a key mistake.
The good news, in our son's case, is that though it seemed like it was at the time, it was actually not his last chance. By his senior year, he was the third string running back (due, unfortunately, to an injury suffered early in the year by one of his buddies). He got a little run. Not a lot, but enough to get him two 70 or so yard gains and five touchdowns. I am told he holds the Wyoming record for most yards gained by a running back without ever having a negative yardage carry. Might be a pretty specialized record, but what the heck. It is an accomplishment in my book. He remembers that fumble against Air Force, but it turns out it did not define him, even in the eyes of Wyoming fans.
Hang in there, young man. Don't forget that you also had a great catch. And remember that you can tell more about a person when they fail than when they succeed.
