Edman 1 for 4 and scored a run for Dodgers over Phila.
Hoerner HR a rare bright moment for the Cubs who lost to Milw.
RE: Stanford Players in MLB -
Nobadeer - 10-07-2025
Edman almost made a wild throw in the bottom of the 9th, Freddie Freeman saved it and the Dodgers won.
Hoerner had made a rare error in game 1 vs. Milw. and that was costly for the Cubs, who need to sweep the final three games of the series to move on.

AJ Hinch put in a 36 year old, 1-pitch reliever in the bottom of the 15th, with predictable results for the Tigers.
Edman to the NLCS. He didn't do too much vs. the Phillies but maybe he can regain his form from last year's NLCS when he was the MVP.
Hoerner and the Cubs play game 5 tomorrow.

Good game 2 for Edman, 2 for 4 with a RBI.
Hoerner hit .419 in the postseason (13 for 31) which boosted his 2025 overall batting average to .303! He had totals of 30 doubles, 30 steals, 8 HR, 63 RBI and 93 runs scored. In the field, only 4 errors in 627 plays.

Last night, Tommy Edman had a tie-breaking RBI single in the 6th, which turned out to be the winning run for the Dodgers.

Hoerner and Stowers nominated for the Silver Slugger awards!
Edman and the Dodgers start the World Series on Friday evening. Remember that kid in little league who threw no-hitters and hit homers all in the same game? Ohtani does that against major leaguers.

In last night's marathon World Series game, Tommy Edman threw out a runner at third base in the 9th, and threw out a runner at the plate in the 10th on a relay.

He also hit a leadoff double in the 16th inning or so, was moved to third on a bunt, and the pinch hitter could not deliver the sacrifice fly to have Edman score the winning run.

Edman had an RBI today in a losing effort. After last night’s marathon, today’s Jays win was pretty routine. Series tied at 2.

Edman a back to back WS champ! Has any other LSJU player won back to back WS?
Sad for the SF Giants to be in the NL West with ~ half the payroll of the Dodgers (way less than half if you count Ohtani's deferred salary).

Exciting to see Stanford alumni in their professional success :) Hope to see social media content of their campus visits to encourage the team and increase recruiting profile! (Bring all the Japanese players to chat it up with Sasaki -- that would be really cool.)

Brendan Beck is not being protected by the Yankees for the upcoming Rule 5 draft.
He seemed to do well last year in AA and AAA with more good outings than bad ones. But haven't read any reports calling him an imminent callup so no idea if he'd tempt a team to pick him and keep him in the majors all year.

I think he gets picked up, probably by a cost-conscious, sub-.500 team. He has good command, four pitches. #4 or #5 starter, long reliever, strong slider.
There were 83 total selections last year, most since 2004. He's a second round pick, the Yankees lost five players last year.

Expected to be the bulk reliever today.

Battled for 3 innings and kept his team in the game.
Looks like his family was able to fly out too.

Saw a comment that the Giants let Tristan fly out as well (not sure if that's him on the left)
Unfortunately, back to the minors after the game, but at least he's now on the 40 man roster.

Great for B. Beck.
Meanwhile, Hoerner has *28* RBI in his first 37 games, with 20 runs scored, 11 doubles, 4 HR, 7 steals, .290 average. Cubs in 1st place.
