Will be interesting to see how many of that class hits the transfer portal after one season of playing ball in the midwest during the early spring.

Nico Hoerner of the Cubs (LSJU class of '19) wins his first Gold Glove! Only 9 errors in 667 plays in the field, for a sparkling .987 fielding percentage.
He also hit .283 in 688 plate appearances, with 9 HR, 27 doubles, 68 RBI, 98 runs scored, and 43 steals (4th in NL and 6th in all of MLB).

I have low expectations for this coming year. Montgomery's departure leaves Moore as our only returning star. Everyone else will be a new starter or average last year when seeing the field.
Perhaps we'll have excellent pitching to carry us this season.

We are so young. 3 Sophs who are transfers all with promise.
Many Frosh with promise but who knows
Pitching should be good could be very good

Stanford frosh recruiting Class is ranked 28 However that's due mostly to a class of 11 not 16 or so. The average
ranking for our recruits puts Stanford at # 11

Great interview. Esquer acknowledged the obvious: our boys will take their lumps early...and perhaps beyond that given how young they are. What's great to hear is how excited he is about the freshmen arms. I already knew about the top two freshmen pitchers, but it's clear there are two others who can contribute. He also mentioned he's pumped about five other freshmen pitchers coming in a year from now. Sounds like we should have a great staff in 2025. Not sure what the hitting will look like then...or for this year, for that matter.
