Early Wynn, Whitey Ford, Bob Lemon?

I think Giants may have covered it. Probably Ford.
What was Whitey's other nickname?

I agree with Giants Early Wynn guess for most strikeouts.
As for Whitey's other nickname - the Chairman of the Board (given to him, I think, by Elston Howard).

Early Wynn is right. I would have guessed Jim lemon if told a Cleveland Indian

The question asked about memorabilia generally, not baseball cards in specific. The item in question was not a baseball card. In fact it wasn’t even baseball memorabilia.

Maradona jersey from 1986 "Hand of God" goal game in '86 World Cup. Wouldn't have known, but saw it in SJMN this morning.

Just read the story. I was close. I once had a Mantle 52 Topps card. Once

Yup, I saw it in a tweet, or I wouldn’t have known either.
I wonder if that Maradona Jersey was purchased by a rich Englishman with an intent to destroy it.

Bobbbbbb, how did you get that card? One reason that it is so valuable is that it came in the last printed series of Topps ‘52. It was only sold in small quantity on the Esat Coast.
I have an EX-NMT of Mantle ‘53 which is pretty valuable but not in the class as the ‘52.
Still have some Zeenuts and the two Mother’s Cookie PCL sets 1952-53.

Hmmm maybe a 53. I used to get rid of say the 53 card for a player when I got the 54.
I have a number of mother’s cookies cards
But not complete or close
I bought 52 reprints like 30 years ago stolen in 1996.

The ‘52’s are the classic set but I like the ‘53 set because the originals were painted copies of photographs which was unusual. A 280 card set missing six cards (never sold) of players who refused to sign contracts (Ted included). The paintings hung for decades in the Topps offices and for some reason were sold years later. To me unforgivable. In the old College HOF in South Bend original paintings of all the Voldemort winners were housed in a gallery not open to the public. My cousin’s First Air Cav buddy was the exec director and we took a personal tour which included the gallery. I believe the Hall relocated and may have made the paintings open to view.
BTW, Williams signed for the ‘54 set and unusual for the time he was the #1 card and also the last number in two different poses.
The most fun collecting as a kid were the Mother’s Cookies. Ate a lot of cookies.

Tittle played the 1950 season with the Colts.
The draft was held before the season and the Niner who was picked first played in 1950.
