You might want to switch Austin Uke from OL to DL.

He's listed on the official roster as OG (I actually cross-checked the roster last night). Can you document the switch? Happy to make it.

He's certainly not wrong. Photographic and video evidence make abundantly clear Uke is playing DL in camp and coaches have explicitly discussed his DL transition. Even if Uke switches back to OL SamuelMcF is not wrong. It's possible the transition is somewhat experimental and the official site is waiting for confirmation, or that we're being sneaky and looking to unveil Uke as a secret weapon on DL, but much more likely in my view is that the roster is wrong. Never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by incompetence.

With malice toward none, with charity for all.....
Stanford's DL was certainly charitable last year.

Chart updated to reflect depth chart for Colgate game.
I also switched sophomore Austin Uke from OG to DL, as reflected on the official roster.
I've always thought it was sort of weird that they list three receivers and a fullback as starters, though I understand they may start out in one or the other formation. At any rate, I reluctantly listed three receivers and a fullback as starters, even though that makes twelve starters on offense.
Likewise, they are now listing the nickelback as a starter, making twelve starters on defense as well, though I realize that we play out of the nickel package quite a bit, which is good considering the quality of our front seven. Anyway, I listed all twelve there as well.
I also added other positional responsibilities listed on depth chart (kick returner, punt returner, holder). Interestingly, they no longer list who handles kickoffs.

Frosh Williams and Wright both S --> CB
Jaden Slocum CB --> S
Weird that they no longer list who handles kickoffs, but that's obviously Karty.

Thanks for this, SMF. Was going to do a cross-check with the roster tonight, but you saved me the trouble!

Coco Lukrich is not listed on the current team roster. I assume it is a medical retirement.

I doubt it. Dude was practicing and taking team photos as recently as last week.
However, considering he was one of two scholarship fullbacks in the same class (WTF?!?!?!), this is actually a good thing from a roster management perspective. That scholarship should have gone elsewhere to begin with.
RE: 2022 Stanford Football Personnel -
msqueri - 08-30-2022
Could be medical retirement. (Never know when enough is enough) Could be transfer elsewhere recognizing fullback is becoming less and less a part of our identity and he's buried. Could be a combo of things where he's essentially pushed out the door to get us to the scholarship limit (kind of unclear exactly where we stand on that given Jorgensen/Keck/Fields/walk-ons who may get scholarships. Could be something else.
Agree that it's very welcome news from a roster management standpoint. We absolutely do not need both Taylor and Lukrich going forward. This makes the roster management for the 2023 roster one spot more manageable.

Updating chart...
I have removed sophomore FB
Coco Lukrich. I was thinking that maybe he is doing an LDS mission (he is from Utah, but not sure if he's LDS), but others have reported that he was with the team very recently. Mystery. Interesting tidbit: out of HS, he was listed as a DE by PrepStar, and as an OG by 247. Versatile guy! Could have used him at either of those other two positions.
I have also removed sophomore walk-on ILB
William Stockwell, who also appears to have retired from football.
Best of luck to both!

Disappointing news about Coco. I had high hopes for him as a FB in reestablishing Stanford's once physical run game. A big, athletic guy whom I had visions of delivering devastating kick-out blocks from unbalanced sets.

The extra scholarship more important to us than the outside possibility Lukrich would have leap-frogged Shield Taylor on the depth chart in order to win 8-12 snaps a game. Lukrich was projecting as a zero to 12 snap a game player for us over the course of his entire career. Now we get an extra scholarship for the next four years. That is helpful to try to instill a competitive walk-on culture by leaving open the possibility for the best walk-on to be converted, as well as to help navigate the off-season scholarship crunch (an extra fifth year player returning, for instance). It's impossible to know now where that edge case will be four months from now but it is highly likely to be more significant than a 0-12 snap player (who given Taylor was much more likely to be on the low end of that spectrum).

How do you know Lukrich was projecting as a zero to 12 snap p/g player over the course of his career? Based on the usage of the FB over the past few seasons? If so, yes, but that has to change. Way too much 10 and 11 personnel for me. Stanford has become less because of it.
I desperately want to see the Fullback position return as a major force for Stanford football. Shaw once said, "We lead the nation in fullbacks."
Of course, that was during a stretch of very successful football.

Raiders
Walk-On Union Watch. A full dozen non-scholarship players got PT against the Toothpaste, with an incredible six collegiate debuts. No statistics were recorded in the game unless noted.
- Edge Thunder Justice Keck, 6th year, was formerly on scholarship, but now is not (unless they gave him one of the two scholies that have recently become available). He is a curious case. His sophomore year, he played in 11 games, in 10 games his junior year, and started five games in the shortened 2020 season as a senior, when he earned a scholarship. But last year he only played in five games as a backup and on ST.
- Safety Patrick Fields, 5th year, was one of three starting safeties, and had three tackles. It seems strange to post his name among the walk-ons, but he is officially not on scholarship (unless, they give him one of the aforementioned two). Last year he was HM All-Big-12!
- ILB Jason Kaul, sr., played in ten games last season; he has been a solid contributor. Against Colgate, he got two tackles - the first tackles of his Stanford career. Woot!
- RB Caleb Robinson, jr., also saw significant action. He played in two games last season with no statistics recorded, but against Colgate he rushed four times for 12 yards.
- C Logan Berzins, jr., made his collegiate debut. Congratulations!
- DL Zephron Lester, jr., made his collegiate debut. Congratulations!
- DL Matthew Merritt, jr., made his collegiate debut, and recorded a tackle. Congratulations!
- WR David Kasemervisz, so., played in one game on special teams last year.
- OT Jason Amsler, so., made his collegiate debut. Congratulations! He is a large human.
- C Will Gibson, so., made his collegiate debut. Congratulations!
- Edge Duke Reeder, so., made his collegiate debut. Congratulations!
- K Emmet Kenney, so., missed the final extra point of the game. He did make one last season.
In addition...
- WR Brycen Tremayne, a 5th year former walk-on, caught four balls for 54 yards.
- P Ryan Sanborn, a senior former walk-on, had a good game. He punted thee times for a 44.3-yard average. He had two punts of over 50 yards (long of 53 yards). He had zero punts into the endzone.
- ILB Spencer Jorgensen, a senior former walk-on, had a solo tackle and partnered on a one-yard TFL.
Frosh Force. Seven true freshmen played against the Tartar Control. None recorded any statistics unless noted.
- QB Ashton Daniels - HOWEVER, he did not take an official snap since his one appearance was wiped out by a false start penalty
- RB Arlen Harris carried the ball twice - once for a two-yard gain, and once for a one-yard loss.
- TE Sam Roush had a tackle on ST (on a kickoff) and saw playing time on offense.
- WR Mudia Reuben caught two balls for 20 yards and a TD. What a debut!
- DL Jaxson Moi did not have a tackle, but played a lot. He did record a quarterback hit.
- Edge David Bailey started and had two tackles. Figures to be a significant contributor at Stanford!
- CB Collin Wright
Bench Bunch. The following non-injured non-frosh scholarship players did not appear against Colgate.
- Quarterback
- Running Back
- Fullback
- Tight End
- Wide Receiver
- Offensive Tackle
- Offensive Guard
- Center
- Defensive Line
- Edge
- Inside Linebacker
- Cornerback

Sophomore RB
Brendon Barrow, sophomore DL
Zach Buckey, and sophomore ILB
Ese Dubre all made their collegiate debuts. Congratulations!
